Zoë
I step out of the airplane. Classical English weather greets me, luckily I'm used to it since it's often the same as in Belgium. He texted me a picture of his car, a car I didn't even know he owned. It's the most boring, black, normal car out there. He told me it's his car to be in disguise with. I walk out the airport and look for it. The disguise is deffinately working and I'm having trouble finding him. My phone rings and I see his name popping up on my screen. "You look beautiful." I hear when I place it against my ear. I feel I start to blush. "Wish I could say the same about you if I had a clue where you are." I can hear him laugh. "You have to turn a little bit to your right and than walk past the red car." I do as he says and I finally spot him. He's wearing a cap and the hood of is sweater is even on top of that, not only for the weather but also to stay under the radar. When I get closer he gets out, immediately taking my trolly off me. "Let me handle this." He says with a soft smile and I can tell he's a little nervous. That makes two of us.
This is only our second official date since Monaco. For our first date he visited me, picked me up with flowers, brought me back home. It was really sweet and romantic, and although I lived there my whole life, he insisted on planning the date, bringing me to a restaurant I've never been before, watching the stars together under the big pine trees afterwards before bringing me home. I wanted him to come in but he just gave me a small kiss and left, telling me to focus on our emotional connection rather than the sexual chemistry.
We just stand there, both not really knowing what to say. His eyes are keeping mine locked on him and I already know my face has turned completely red. "Right I'm gonna put this away." He suddenly says. I smile at him and nod, walking to the car and automatically opening it. He starts to laugh and I realize I'm standing in front of the drivers side. "Sorry I forgot, change of sides." "You can drive if you want to." I hear while he dangles the keys in front of me. For a split second I want to take them, show him I can drive and probably even better than him. But I choose not to and walk over to the other side. Lando comes running after me and opens the door before I can. Gosh I'm already smitten over him.
He drove us back to his house where I was greeted once again with flowers. I dig my nose in them, they smell so nice, like summer. Lando has put on the kettle to make some tea and the rain outside has been getting heavier by the second. We settle down on the couch where he placed a blanket over my legs. He already knows what I like. "I ehm.. what are you doing this summer?" "Oh ehm, no plans really, just working to make these kind of trips possible more often." He puts his arm around my shoulder and smiles down at me. "Babe, no worries about money, this trip and all the others to come will be on me." My cheeks flush red. "Lan I really want to visit you more often but I don't want to be a burden to you." He laughs as he places his hand on my cheek, slightly lifting up my chin with his thumb to make eye contact. "I really really like you Zo, I want to see you and I don't mind to pay a little more to make that possible." He slowly leans in. His lips brush over mine and my heart is beating out of my chest. It feels like a rollercoaster is riding through my body. The gap closes more and the soft touch of his warm lips makes me flustered. A kiss so soft, romantic and sweet.
We brake contact and he winks at me. I smile as I look down. "Okay, well I never had someone flying me to another country for a date before." I can feel his body shifting and sense his smile "I actually haven't had someone fly to another country for a date before too." I look up and immediatly lock eyes with him. I am falling so hard for this guy. Thunder wakes me from the moment, making me jump a little in my seat. Lando looks down at me. "Are you okay? Your eyes have widened and you're shaking?" "I'm fine, it's stupid." He tilts his head, waiting for me to tell the truth. "I am 25 years old and scared of thunder." He chuckles a little while I turn away in embaressement. His arms wrap around me and he thightens his grip. "You're safe right here." He kisses my head and a sudden calmness takes over. "I ehm, I maybe wanted to take you on a little holiday, just a week. Nothing too crazy if you're up to it?" A smile from ear to ear forms. "I would love that, being away together. I'll try my best to make something work with my job." "About your job... I know how much you hate it and I might have used a little bit of my connections and pulled some strings. I arranged a job interview for you at-" "Lan are you crazy? We can't work together you know that." He laughs. "Not at Mclaren silly, you can't get into F1 in such a big team, it's at Williams. I have everything in this letter, you only have to call for an appointment if you want to." He smiles while handing me the letter with more information. He applied me to a job offer, without me ever asking for it. And I don't know if I'm thankfull at the moment or mad.
