IM SO SORRY I MADE YALL THINK I WAS POSTING THIS 2 DAYS AGO BUT INSTEAD IM POSTING WAY LATER IM SO SORRY. 

Ahem

Anyways...

I tried out some different melodies and hooks, I found a great one. I played it for Zack. 

"Great! Now lets go show Jourdin." He said, grabbing my arm, leading me out the door. 

"WAIT!" I said stopping. 

"ugh what nowwwwwwww?" Zack whined. 

"I wanna hear Cody's version first, see if its actually that bad. Plus I wanna bounce off ideas,  one songwriter to another." I said, "it was his original idea, so I wanna get a feel for it, I won't wanna change it too much. I'll bring Marcus too, to see it in a performer light." 

"Ugh fine, lets just go." Zack grabbed my hand, and we went to Cody's cabin, stopping to grab Marcus on the way. 

Cody played his song and it was... interesting. 

"Soooo, what'cha think?" Cody aked after playing, waiting for some praise.

"Well... that was..." I stuttered trying to find something nice to say. 

"I got this Y/N," Marcus turned to Cody, "It's good, I just have a few minor notes."

"Of course!"

"Well..." Marcus turned to me, as I nodded thinking the same thing. "Your beat is off, your hook is weak, and you're making the audience lose focus faster than a goldfish on vine." (idk the actual line lol, also yes, I know vine was made 3 years after this episode, but I thought it was funny)

Cody obviously took offence to this, "EXCUSE ME?!"

"I'm just saying, you need something with more beat... something like... BOODABOODABAP BOODABOODABAP" He started beatboxing. 

Cody scoffed. "WELL THIS IS COMING FROM THE BRILIIANT MINDS BEHIND RETAINER BABY!"

Now I gasped. "THAT SONG WENT TRIPLE PLATNUM!" 

"YEAH BEFORE YOU GOT BOOTED OUT OF THE INDUSTRY. OR SHOULD I SAY BOODA BOODA BAP OUTAA THE INDUSTRY." 

Marcus took that personally. It was all that defined his worth at the time, and when he got out of the buisness he lost almost everything.

After some bickering, Cody and Marcus ended the conversation in a lovely "I HATE YOU" and Marcus left, cody went to the bathroom, leaving me and Zack standing in the room. 

"Soooo..... When are we gonna realese it?" Zack asked after some awkward silence. I rolled my eyes. 

"Never at this point. Until Cody agrees, I'm not gonna release something his work without him consenting to putting his name on it." I left the room. 

(off topic, I'm listening to Everlong rn... ITS SO GOOD OMG)

✨Time Skip✨

"Hey Y/N check it out!" Bailey said, as she pointed towards a fruit basket.

"Whoahhhhhhhhhhhh, What does the note say?" I asked, about to answer my own question by going to the fruit basket. 

"Y/N, I'm sorry for how I acted, you're handsome, caring, boyfriend showed me ur song, and I really liked it! Go pitch it and make our song a hit! -Cody" The note said. Wow is Zack is such a narcissist.

"I gotta go" I put on my sweater and headed out the door, to meet Zack on the Sky deck. 

"Got your note" I said to him as he was making smoothies behind the counter.
