Toby woke up surrounded by trees. He shot up, breathing heavily. He looked around, huffing. Of course he wasn't alone.
The black tall figure stood in the distance, tilting its head on its long neck.

Toby held his breath, kicking his feet to scoot himself back. He was kicking leaves and sticks as he did so.
He eventually cornered himself against a tree.

"ㄚ口∪'尺モ 工れ ㄚ口∪尺 口山れ 爪工れ刀,
匚卄工ㄥ刀."

Toby perked up, eyeing the sky, it was a red color, the trees were black, the air was foggy. Static filled his ears.

"N-not you again.." He cried, tears streaming down his face. He was nothing but a scared kid. The look of pure terror and worry blanketed his expression.

"ㄥ ∪れ刀モ尺Ｓ匕丹れ刀 ㄚ口∪尺
丹れムモ尺—"

"YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY ANGER!"
Toby cut off, grinding his teeth, more tears streaming down.

Static perched through the trees, echoing off of itself and becoming louder. Toby grabbed his ears and kicked his feet.
"You're just going to kill me like y-you did those other kids! Y-you think i don't know your schemes!"

"口卄 爪ㄚ 匚卄工ㄥ刀....ㄥ 刀工刀れ'匕
Ｋ工ㄥㄥ 匕卄口Ｓモ Ｋ工刀Ｓ.."

"ㄚ口∪ 刀口れ'匕 尺モ爪モ爪乃モ尺...乃∪匕
ㄥ匕 山丹Ｓ 丹ㄥ山丹ㄚＳ ㄚ口∪尺
乃ㄥ口口刀ㄚ 卄丹れ刀Ｓ."

Toby's breath hitched, shaking his head. "nope..no!"
He continued to shake his head, holding his ears still.

"ㄥ'ㄥㄥ Ｓ丹∨モ ㄚ口∪."

"工 山丹れ匕 匕口 卄モㄥㄗ ㄚ口∪ ムモ匕
丹山丹ㄚ, 乃∪匕 ㄥ'爪 丹下尺丹工刀
ㄚ口∪'ㄥㄥ 卄丹∨モ 匕口 刀口 匕卄モ
尺モＳ匕."

Toby finally stopped trying to ignore it, slowly looking up towards it. How could he trust it? It killed Lyra, it caused him real pain, it ruined his life.
Why did he suddenly feel like this could actually work? Nothing else could, how could he pass up the only opportunity to feel free from this life of torture.

"...okay…"

"モメ匚モㄥㄥモれ匕..."

The creature reached out its long, boney hand.
Toby glanced at it, sniffling away his sadness, letting anger take control.
He reached out his bandaged hand and took the entity's.

Everything was quiet…all but a gush of wind.
