Toby did eventually open up to Lyra about how school was, and about the three missing boys that were still never found. She didn't know what to say, but again brought up what she taught him.
"Have you gotten into any fights yet?"
She asked, his words peaking her curiosity."Almost, I punched one of the boys who a-are now missing, no wonder why people think I'm the reason.."
She grabbed his hand with a sigh. "Look, I know you, I don't think you're someone capable of something like that. Hitting someone? Yes, but I'm sure they just ran away, you know how I was as a teen? Always doing dumb stuff huh?"
Toby nodded to her words, glancing down. He just kept lingering back to the nightmare he had, along with the recent thoughts of harming others.
He held onto her hand tight."Were they mean to you in school?" Toby asked. Lyra never did open up about her school life that much. Toby had always been curious but never did wanna bring it up in case it was personal.
"Well to be honest, I was pretty popular..but not in the best way. People weren't mean to me, however they weren't too nice either ahah," She got nervous, but would talk about her highschool years.
No matter the truth, Toby was just as interested. It was good to know how school was like for her, though he did wonder how it turned out well for her.
This conversation didn't go without some lecturing, of course gentle lectures. Lyra knew how much trouble her brother had been getting into lately, and once again reminded him of his worth, something she did almost every day.
"Are you gonna be okay here by yourself? I notice you sneak into my room every night to sleep on the floor, the nightmares getting to you again?"
Lyra had always been concerned for Toby's well being, though she is worried for her own in the time being. She always puts others before herself, which is something the two share quite strongly. Toby nodded followed by an eye roll, "Yeah okay, whatever." He huffed out.
Lyra laughed softly, finding it funny that her brother was still somewhat afraid of the dark. But, it wasn't the dark.
It was what loomed beyond it.••••••
