»I'm home!«
I yelled through the house as I closed the door behind me.
No one answered.
I didn't know if Hailey was already home so I walked over to the kitchen and began to start getting ready to cook for us.
Dad told me he'd be home around 3PM which gave me three more hours to convince him that I can travel with Lia to her cousin's wedding, before my mom gets home.

»Hey!«
I heard from behind and slightly jumped a little bit.
»You scared the shit out of me!«
I replied and breathed out loud while putting my hand up to my heart. After it finally began to beat normal again, Hailey tried to hide her grin and answered,
»Sorry! I didn't mean to.«
»Well I'm starving so let's start to cook.«
I replied and changed the subject.
I loved cooking and especially with Hailey. She usually tells me how her school day went and some gossip about her class.

»Wanna know what happened today? I fought with Jennifer again and Mrs. Lee said if it happens again she wants to talk to Mom and Dad.«
Hailey began to talk and put the noodles into the boiling water.
»Oh god don't push it too far, what did she do this time?«
I asked without looking at her and cut the cucumber for our salad.
»We got our physics test back, right? I suck at science so I obviously wanted to listen to Mrs. Lee's explanation of her questions and all I heard was Jennifer's stupid ass laugh in front of my seat and I told her to shut up.«
I almost spit out the apple juice I drank whom I opened a few seconds ago and looked at her with a smile.
She is definitely my sister.
»You didn't exactly say that, did you?«
I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at her with big eyes.

Hailey was rarely the one of us two that had problems with her behavior at school. She was a even-tempered girl but knew how to stand up for herself.
She shrugged her shoulders at me and replied,
»I did, I couldn't how it in any longer. Everything about her annoys the shit out of me.«
»Is this about the story with Lucas?«
Lucas was a boy from another class in Hailey's grade and he was her first official crush but from what I've heard, she wasn't the best at hiding that and Jennifer found out. Hailey said she also liked him and that was probably the reason she told Lucas and also their whole year that Hailey liked him. She slapped Jennifer and our parents had to come to the principal. Hailey got her last chance and only one more misstep, next time someone like that happens and she'll have to change schools.
Mom was overall, which was the total opposite for me, relaxed about Hailey and school but if she needs to change school's, she won't be as chill as she used to be.

»Of course this is about Lucas! She was a stupid bitch for that and now Lucas doesn't even talk to me anymore.«
Hailey stated and began to sear our meat.
»If he stopped talking to you because of that, he's just as much of a bitch as she is.«
I told her and began to stir our vegetables in the pan.
»Maybe, I still hate her though.«
Hailey grabbed our cutlery and plates and walked over to our table.
»Nevertheless, you shouldn't risk getting kicked out of school, especially on your last year of middle school! You know how Mom is.«
I answered her and tasted the noodles.

»And how was your day?«
Hailey asked me as we sit down after a couple more minutes.
»It was alright, nothing really important happened. I had a discussion with Lia about Dylan, the usual.«
I replied and took a bite from my salad.
»So she really wants to take that loser back?«
She asked straight away back and I shrugged my shoulders.
As I said, we talk about anything.
»Seems like it, she only wants to see if things could work out again but I know her, she's definitely going to date him again.«
She shook her head and ate our cooked carrots.
»I would never be like that!«
My little sister stated.
»I hope you wouldn't either, otherwise I'd have to hit the back of your head until you wouldn't.«
I shrugged my shoulders.
»Of course not but I've never been in that position so who am I to judge? I just don't want her to get hurt again.«
»She will. Wanna know what that german exchange student in my class once said? The only thing that tastes warmed up is goulash.«
I bopped my head back and forth.
»It's her life, I'm not gonna tell her want to do she'll do it either way.«
I answered and took another bite from my food.
»So I was thinking of asking Mom and Dad about the wedding thing.«
I began to talk again and looked at her.
»You should wait until you know if she's in a bad mood, and ask Dad first!«
Hailey replied and glanced at me with furrowed eyebrows.
»Obviously I'm going to ask him first!«
I said.
»How long would you be in europe?«
Hailey asked and took a sip from her water.
»A little more than a week I think, not that long.«
She nodded slowly and put down her water.
»Dad will most likely say yes, but Mom? I don't know. She should have the best day ever to agree to this like finding the cure for cancer Harps.«
»It's during the summer time there's nothing she could complain about.«
I answered with furrowed eyebrows.
»You know her as much as I do.«
