Miya
Iwa and I left Oikawa with a wave, my heart still practically leaping out of my chest. It was evidently clear that he was feeling something that went a lot further than friends, and I was quite ecstatic about that.
Of course, I wouldn't act all obedient around him like a puppy, since that wasn't my forte. Instead, I'd just keep being myself. If Oikawa fell in love with the woman I naturally am, then I'll act in that position if my life depended on it. Didn't seem like such a huge problem, so I went along with it.
"You two really are so oblivious," Iwa chuckled, shoving his hands inside his jacket pockets.
I smiled. "Not necessarily. I still think we're trying to figure out when this is actually going to become something."
Iwa scoffed. "Hurry up, will you? It kills me to see this awkward back and forth with you both."
"Patience," I pressed my hands together, and shot him a dumb grin. "I'll ask him out eventually."
He rolled his eyes. "Eventually could mean decades."
"You don't know that."
"Uh huh. Right."
I laughed and shook my hands. "I'll do it as soon as I can, promise!"
"You'd better, or I'm forcing him to say it."
I chuckled, and we slowly but surely made our way to the gym. On the way there, I passed Nanako and a few of the others. The odd thing was that she left as soon as Emi and Kamade mentioned watching Oikawa's game. I knew she definitely had a crush on him, but it seemed to just have faded. Something must have happened, but I didn't want to seem nosy if I asked, so I just sent her off with a smile and wave.
"I'm gonna go change into my shorts and shirt, you can see your way to the seating above on the railing," Iwa said nonchalantly, and walked in the direction of the boys change rooms.
"Alright, I'll be there," I promised, and gave him a head nod.
Emi and Kamade looked at me as I turned in the direction of the gym, and stopped me with their words.
"Miya? You're watching the game too?" Emi asked, a bit puzzled.
I smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I'm supporting the team. That's what you two are doing too, right?"
The girls stared down at their feet with a look of regret.
"Uh, not really," Emi managed to say.
"I'm just here to see Oikawa play after he was injured for so long," Kamade said with a happy sigh.
Emi nodded. "Exactly! Aw man, I really wish I could have been by his side as he recovered..."
"Same!" Kamade whined, and I rolled my eyes with a sweet smile.
"I'll see you two later," I spoke earnestly, and turned away from them with a sour attitude. Even if I wasn't dating the star setter of Seijoh, it was still a bit irritating to hear other girls proclaim their love right in front of me. I know I sound incredibly possessive right now, but I really couldn't help it.
I'm just burning into the fire he created under my feet. Shit, that wasn't what I was aiming for.
I shrugged the feeling off with a chuckle, and brought my hands to my hair, which was still in a high ponytail. As my delicate fingers reached the black scrunchie I had used to tie it up, I quickly undid it.
In an instant, my healthy locks spread across my shoulders and back, and I adjusted my bangs to do a sort of side-swoop. It was a kind of new style, and I definitely could tell that Oikawa liked my hair down a lot more than having it up. And if he were to win for the sake of me being there, I wanted to at least look good for him. What? I know I'm acting a bit overzealous here, but I can't help the fact that I'm in love with that bastard of a man.
