Oikawa

After the small break that occurred right after Karasuno's match with Tokonami, my team and I could be found in the seating area of the complex, taking just five more minutes to relax. Our game began just a few minutes after Karasuno's next match against Date Tech, which was an interesting lineup indeed.

If I can recall, they had lost to them in the past, so this was the long awaited revenge.

If they didn't make it through Date Tech's defenses, there was no way they could ever beat us. Not like they could, even if they did clear the next sets as theirs. However, there was a much higher chance that they would be able to land a few points against us if they beat Date Tech.

This was bound to be a fascinating turning point.

"Call me crazy, but I swear I just saw Miya talking with some of the guys from Karasuno," came Makki's voice from the end of the seating row we were in. He had just left to grab something he forgot in the foyer, but it seems he stumbled upon something that peaked my curiosity to the fullest.

"Ah, so she did bother to show up," Iwa smirked, and folded his arms over his chest. "I knew it."

I stayed as calm as possible, not wanting to cause any hectic panic. My first instinct was to ask Makki where she was, and then immediately find her, but I knew for a fact that I couldn't do that. If Lisa really did turn up tomorrow, I wanted to end things with her before doing anything rash.

"Huh? Oikawa, are you feeling alright? You've been so quiet it's almost concerning," Kindaichi asked with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

I chuckled. "I'm perfectly fine, just deep in thought," I admitted, and watched as Karasuno finally entered the court they would be playing on. A smirk slid onto my face as I saw Kageyama's snotty face holding a conversation with the small fry, going over some sort of tactic.

"He's probably thinking about Miya, don't mind him," Iwa stated, moving his eyes down to Karasuno, who were now quickly lining up at the edge of the court.

I turned my head in his direction, and grinned. "How'd you know?"

"It's so plainly obvious you like her, Oikawa," Kindaichi chuckled, and turned his attention back to the court. Iwa agreed, and I made not a single objection to their accurate observation.

I laughed softly at his comment, and looked down at the game that had just begun. My entire focus was now on the court, not daring to peel my eyes away, even for a second. I already had a strategy planned for that little quick attack of theirs if they won, but not many rebuttals for their other attacks. That is exactly why I needed to pay the utmost attention for as long as I could, mainly because we'd be playing against our first team in just a couple minutes.

My eyes followed along their line of movements easily, blocking out all my other thoughts and Iwa's observations on the spike they had just shot down.

Unfortunately for me, my brain decided to wander off in a different direction ten minutes in. This sucked, but the question pulling at my thought process was one of the most simple ones.

What was Kaori doing with Karasuno? I knew she had some sort of past with Tobio, since they were talking back after the practice game. But still, it just seemed...Off.

Would she willingly go to them because of her own volition? Or was it something to do with me?

Shit, if I was the cause for her heading to them, I could never forgive myself. I swear if I saw her with Kageyama one more time, I would definitely pull her away, no matter what kind of situation we were in.
