Time skip after they took control of most Dicathen and made the deal with Kezess Indrath to protect the continent

Caera's POV

During our time here in Dichaen, Arthur asked me to protect and follow his mother. It wasn't a task I took lightly, especially since she was still struggling with the loss of her daughter, Eleanor. The fact that she was an emitter was fascinating, though. She always had a purpose, always going around healing the injured.

I didn't mind following her around, to be honest. It gave me an opportunity to learn more about Arthur. I asked her on different occasions how he was as a child and what his past was like.

"So, what was Arthur like as a child?" I asked her, as we walked down the street.

She smiled softly. "He was always talented in magic and swordsmanship. But he also had a habit of getting himself into trouble. He was always putting himself in danger, even when he was just a little boy."

I laughed at that. "That's how he is , Always seeking out danger."

She looked at me, her eyes full of worry. "He's always been like that. Even now, with all his power and talent, he still manages to get himself into trouble."

I nodded, understanding. "It must be hard for you, worrying about him all the time."

"It is," she admitted. "But I'm his mother. I'll always worry about him."

We continued walking, and I couldn't help but notice the way she moved. She was graceful, almost like a dancer. It was clear that her talent as an emitter wasn't limited to just healing.

"So, what was he like after he came back from Alacrya?" I asked, curious about the changes she had mentioned earlier.

"He was different," she said, her tone somber. "He was colder, more distant. The Arthur I remember was more emotional, more in touch with his feelings. But after Alacrya, he seemed to have lost that."

"I see," I said, not really knowing how to respond to that.

We walked in silence for a few moments before I spoke up again. "What do you think the future holds for Arthur? Do you think he'll be able to overcome the darkness within him?"

She looked at me, a small smile on her face. "I don't know. But I do know that he's strong. He's always been strong, even when he was just a little boy. I have faith in him. I believe he'll find a way to overcome his demons."

I smiled, feeling a sense of hope. "I believe that too."

I asked Arthur's mother if she knew anything about his romantic life. It was a bold question, I know, but I couldn't help but wonder. She told me that since he was young, a lot of girls were attracted to him. Apparently, according to the girls, he was a really dense guy.

I couldn't help but laugh at that. "That sounds like Arthur, alright."

But then, my mind began to wander. I wondered how I could make him realize my feelings for him. I wanted to build a better relationship with him, but he was always so busy. And whenever he did have free time, I felt like he was avoiding me, as if he was afraid of what I might think of him.

I wanted to get closer to him, to understand him better. Now that things in Dicachen were mostly in order, we would probably be returning to the relic tombs soon. Maybe I would be able to spend some time with him there.

But I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty. Arthur was always so cold, and I didn't know what he felt towards me. Did he see me as a partner, or just as a woman? I didn't know, and the uncertainty was driving me crazy.
