50. Can't Help Falling In Love

"What a day." Draco shook his head in disbelief before leaning forward and kissing Sloane again. He still couldn't quite believe any of this was real.

Every time he kissed her, something sparked inside him. Not metaphorically. It genuinely felt like fireworks. Like someone had replaced his blood with liquid sunshine.

It was ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. And he absolutely loved it.

Sloane smiled against his lips. "You're smiling again."

"I know."

"You've been smiling for ten minutes."

"I know."

"It's getting slightly concerning."

"I don't care."

She laughed.

Draco immediately kissed her again. "See?"

"What?"

"There it is again."

"What?"

"That laugh." He pointed at her. "That's becoming a problem."

Sloane blinked. "My laugh?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because I like it."

She laughed again.

Draco groaned. "See? Exactly."

Before she could respond—

"DRACO!" Narcissa's voice echoed across the grounds.

Draco closed his eyes. "No."

Sloane giggled. "Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

She kissed his cheek. "You need to go."

"I really don't."

"You do."

"I don't want to."

The smile on her face only widened. "Draco."

"No."

"Sooner you go." She poked his chest. "The sooner you can come back."

Draco considered this. His eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "Hmm."

"You know I'm right."

"Unfortunately."

Sloane laughed.

Draco sighed dramatically. Then immediately wrapped his arms around her waist.

"What are you doing?"

"You'll see."

"Draco—" Sloane yelped as he effortlessly pulled her onto his knee. "Draco!"

"Trust me."

"I absolutely do not."

Draco grinned. Then stepped off the branch.

Sloane squeaked. For approximately half a second. Then Draco landed smoothly on the grass below. Not even wobbling. He set her carefully back on her feet.

Then immediately looked relieved. "Thank Merlin."

Sloane stared. "What?"

"That could have gone horribly wrong."

"You did not think about that before jumping?"

"No."

"Draco!"
