Rose woke the next day in her TARDIS bedroom. She opened her eyes to a pink darkness of her pillow case. Groaning she rolled over to see her white ceiling while she rubbed her tired eyes.

Rose wasn't a morning person to say the least.

After some time she left her room and headed to the kitchen, where the Doctor was usually found in the mornings.

"Morning." She said in a grouchy voice upon entering the kitchen. He was at the stove, most likely cooking bacon or eggs. So much for not the domestic type, she thought to herself, mentally laughing at her own joke.

"Hello. You're up late, aren't you?" He said without facing her. "Mhm, you know me. Not a morning girl." She took a seat at the table.

"I thought I told you to go home." He said in the same firm voice as yesterday. Still though, his back was all she could see.

"What?" She was suddenly more awake at his words.

"I told you to leave, Rose."

Her expression only grew more puzzled as he turned around, a dead serious look on his face.

"What do you-" She was cut off.

"God, don't you get it?!" Rose flinched at his raised voice whilst he moved forwards, his hands placed on the back of the chair opposite her.

She didn't reply, too shocked to form a sentence.

"I don't want you here! I don't fucking want you here!" He slammed his hands down on the table, making a loud noise. Rose moved back in her chair slightly, clearly frightened of the man she thought she knew.

He looked into her eyes deeply as the silence came over them for a few moments. However it was soon broken by the Doctors change of expression. "Rose, Rose I'm so sorry. I, I don't know what happened." He exhaled, taking his hands away from the table and allowing them to drop at his sides.

"It's.. okay. Just don't do it again, please."

"I don't think I can help it. It's like, god I don't know! I don't know what's wrong with me!" He grew frustrated with himself, tapping his head as he tried to think.

"Doctor, calm down!" She said in a jokey way, in attempt to lighten the mood. She did this every once in a while, whenever he was frustrated with himself, or someone else she'd find a way to lighten the mood. It was one of his favourite things about her.

"Shut up! Don't tell me to calm down Rose!" His voice was once again, laced with anger as he threw the chair in front of him to the side.

He shook his head, "God! I'm sorry Rose! What is happening?! I'm sorry!" He held his head in his hands as he paced the kitchen.

"Doctor, it's okay! It's okay I'm here for you!" She told him, walking towards him.

"No, Rose. I think it's best if you're not."

His voice was normal again, so she was rightfully confused at his reply.

"What?"

"I don't think it's a good idea if your here for me." He told her again, exiting the kitchen and heading towards the console room. She quickly followed him, not done with their conversation yet.

"What do you mean Doctor?!" She shouted, trying to catch up with him.

"I mean, you should go home. Clearly I can't control myself and I don't know why. It's dangerous Rose." He stood at the console, his back facing her.

"I don't want to be a danger to you." Said the Doctor, finally facing her after what felt like years.

"Well, well let me help you then! I'm not leaving Doctor. You can't make me. Please, don't make me." Her voice got quieter by each word. He looked at her sternly as he noticed a few tears rolling down her cheek. He wanted to hug her, tell her he'd never leave her behind, to hold her hand forever and never let go. But he didn't. He couldn't. Not if he wanted her safe.

He knew if he told her it was for her safety, she'd have none of it. Probably storm off into her room, lock the door and refuse to leave the TARDIS. There was only one way to keep her safe, and that was to make her leave. And there was only one way to make her leave. Five words is all it would take. But those were the five words he had found the hardest to say out loud in his 902 years of living.

"I don't want you here."

Her face dropped into a sad, puzzled expression. The last few stray tears fell from her eyes as she blinked, unbelieving of the words she'd just heard him say.

"You what?"

"I don't want you here, Rose. You know me, I get bored easily. I'm bored of it now." There was complete silence. He silently wished she'd say something, anything. But she didn't, so he took it upon himself to continue.

"I'm bored of you, Rose." Those words broke him. But he kept himself together, for her. His face remained emotionless, completely monotone.

She held her tears back, not wanting to show how horrible he'd made her feel. She couldn't have him know how much those words hurt her, it would only make it harder to leave. And it was already hard enough for the both of them.

"Alright then, goodbye." She said, the back of her throat in pain from the tears she held back. "I'll have the TARDIS transport your belongings into your home. Goodbye, Rose."

Without turning back, not even a peek, she left the TARDIS along with the Doctor.

"I miss you already." They both whispered out loud at the exact same time.

Rose heard the TARDIS disappearing from behind her, but she resisted the urge to look at it. She couldn't bring herself to. It was all too much.
