Chaper 2: new idea

Mike had just finished putting the costume on and he looked in the mirror.

He looked cool. He looked like a murderer. Maybe he could be one..? No! What was he thinking? He could never kill someone!

But then he remembered Riley. He remembered how she called Will a f-g. No! He wasn't murderer.

He shook the thought away and took the costume off.

The next day at school was staring off normal. He had first block with Riley, but at least his whole friend group was in that class. The class was social studies, Mikes least favourite class. He didn't even bother to pay attention. It was already hard enough to pay attention to the class because it was social studies, but on top of that Riley was chewing loudly and whispering to her friends. And she sat right behind Mike and Max.

The bell rang and students packed up and left. The next class he had no one from the party was in but there was an assembly, so they would all be right by each other there.

Mike walked to his English class just for attendance then right away headed to the gym to meet up with everyone.

When he got there he saw that Dustin and Will had already arrived. He went on the bleachers and stood next to them.

"Hey guys." Mike smiled as he walked up to them.

"Hi!" Will smiled.

"Hey." Dustin smiled as well.

Soon max arrived with Jane and lastly Lucas arrived. More students flooded the gym as they waited.

Once students stopped coming in, someone grabbed a microphone.

"Testing testing!" Riley said through the microphone. Mike rolled his eyes and sighed. Of course he had to hear HER annoying voice. Out of all people.

"Seems like we are all good! Before the assembly starts as we can see there is no teachers in here so I would like to make an announcement." She gave a devilish smirk. Mike grew angry. If this is about Will, he thought. "I recently found out that Will Byers is a f-g. " right as she said that, teachers came in and took the microphone away from her. But that was the least of the party's worries.

All eyes were on them. Specifically Will. Will ran out. Mike followed and soon everyone else in the party did. Mike saw Will enter the boys bathroom so Mike entered as well.

"Will?" Mike knocked on the stall that he had heard a sobbing sound coming from. "If you don't open the door I'm going to slide under it. Will didn't budge so Mike slid under the door. First thing Mike saw was Will curled up in a ball, crying. Mike went next to him and hugged him.

"I'm sorry Will." Mike whispered.

"Stop apologising for things you didn't even do." Will whispered in between sobs and sniffs.

"I know but it kills me to see you like this. You're my best friend Will. I love you." Mike whispered the last part, but Will heard.

"I love you too." Will whispered back.

They sat there in silence. Only noise in the room was Wills sobs.

Soon Dustin and Lucas came barging in. "Will, Mike! You guys in here?" Dustin asked.

"In here." Mike said.

Dustin and Lucas crawled under the stall door as well.

"You ok Will?" Dustin asked.

Will shook his head no.

"Do you want me and Dustin to go to the office and call your mom and tell her to pick you up?" Lucas suggested. Will nodded.

Lucas and Dustin went back out of the stall and headed to the main office.

Mike stayed there and continued to hug Will.

Mike couldn't even began to say how much he hates Riley. He wanted to make Riley's life a living hell.
