Chapter 13: Suspects

It's around 16:00 they had just finished the movie and they are sitting down and talking.

"You're really still throwing that stupid party?" Lucas rolled his eyes. Mike had just admitted that he wasn't going to cancel the party, but he postponed it to tomorrow.

"Yeah?" Mike replied confused. "Why wouldn't I?"

"You, Will, Max and El were just attacked." Dustin explained. "Why would you throw the party?"

Will sighed. "Max and El weren't attacked, they were threatened."

Lucas shook his head in disappointment. "But you were stabbed." Lucas sighed.

"The house alarm will be on. Plus I won't be disarmed during the party." Mike grabbed a taser and triggered it for a second.

"Ok but-" Mike cut Dustin off.

"If you're attacked you're blaming it on me, I know." Mike rolled his eyes. It wasn't the first time Dustin had said that, it was basically Dustin's catch phrase.

"You guys will be fine." Max said. El nodded. So did Mike and Will.

"We'll be there." State Lucas. "As Long as my parents don't care."

"My mom doesn't care." Max shrugged.

El nodded. "My dad will think I'm at Max's so I'm fine to."

"I'll sneak out." Dustin said, knowing his mom would not let him go if he asked.

"And Chrissy, Eddie, Jason and a few other people said they're available so we should be good." Mike said as he grabbed a cream soda bottle and started chugging it.

Dustin made a confused face. "Why did you invite Jason and Chrissy?" He asked.

Mike sighed as he put down is cream soda bottle. "I invited Jason because he's friends with Lucas." Mike started to explain. "And I invited Chrissy because it would be rude not to, plus he probably wouldn't go if I didn't." Mike shrugged.

"Makes sense." Lucas replied.

"I have an idea!" El smiled.

"What is it?" Mike looked at El. Same with everyone else.

"We should put clues together and help Hopper and the other police figure out who the killer is." She answered proudly.

Everyone said 'sure' except Mike and Will. They just looked at each other.

"Mike, Will?" Max asked.

"Uhm- sure." Mike smiled awkwardly. Will nodded.

El grabbed a piece of lined paper and a pen. "Ok so we know that Gareth died February twenty-second, the next day Riley was blamed and arrested. But then Chrissy was attacked on that same night, so they let Riley go." El wrote down the stuff on the piece of paper. "Then last night, me and max were threatened." She paused to write down stuff. "Then Riley was killed, then you were attacked. Or the other way around I don't really know." El sighed.

Dustin thought for a minute and looked at the ground while tapping his left foot. "I was on the phone with Eddie at the time you two said you guys were called, so it can't be him." He stated.

"What about Steve?" Max looked around for a second. "Or Robin? Was anyone talking to them?"

"Robin and Steve were working." Mike sighed. "What about Jonathan?" Mike looked at Will.

"I was with you, but I know Jonathan, he would never do anything like that." Will explained.

"What about Lonnie? No one has seen him in a long time." Max questioned. Will gagged as soon as he heard his name.

"He moved out of the country. I'm not saying it isn't him, but I'm saying it's unlikely." Lucas replied and fidgeted with his hands.

Mike thought for a minute. "What about Derek? Chrissys ex?" Mike asked.

"Ok, so my suspect list so far is Derek and Lonnie." El said.

"Jack!" Will shouted.

"El and Gareth's ex?" Dustin made a confused face.

"Exactly." Will smiled as he took the paper and pen and added him to the suspect list. "Or maybe Kristy." Will wrote her name down too.

"What would be her motive?" Max asked.

"She always wanted to be head cheerleader, so when Chrissy became head cheerleader, she got jealous." Mike explained for Will.

"And she always had a crush on Jack, so she got jealous because both El and Gareth had dated him." Will added. "And she's highly homophobic."

"I think our list is done for now." Mike shrugged. "Dinner?" Everyone nodded and stood up and went to a restaurant to eat dinner.
