As week three of his "adjusting stage" begins, Alex has now been dressing as a woman and wearing makeup for a whole week. He's gotten the hang of makeup quicker than expected and other than his square figure and flat chest, he looks surprisingly like a woman.

On Monday, Alex decides to take the subway to work rather than an Uber, feeling confident enough to pass as a woman. As he rides the subway, he notices that he doesn't get many strange stares.

Instead, a few guys check him out. Alex wonders if he was just as obvious when he checked out women but the thought passes quickly, and he's soon confronted with his first dilemma of this "adjustment" stage. He suddenly feels the need to pee, and his office is a good 15-minute walk from the subway station. He knows he won't make it.

As Alex steps off the subway, he rushes towards the bathrooms, his steps slightly unsteady in his new nude pumps. He desperately hopes that there will be a family unisex washroom he can use. After all, there's no way he's using the men's washroom - he looks nothing like a man, and he's worried about how people will react to his feminine appearance, especially with those subway stations weirdos that tend to lurk around. On the other hand, using the women's washroom feels wrong to him. He worries someone will find out that he's actually a man.

"Am I still a man," he wonders to himself. "Of course I am stupid," he says to himself, although he's not quite convinced as he looks down at his shaved legs and white cowl neck blouse.

As he reaches the washroom, he sees only two options: Men and Women.

Despite his doubts, the pressure in his bladder builds, and he makes a split-second decision to enter the women's washroom.

As he enters, he's surprised by how much nicer it smells than the men's washroom but he quickly rushes into a stall and relieves himself, grateful that there was no line.

As he finishes up, he washes his hands in front of the mirror and notices that his lipstick is smudged. Instinctively, he reaches into his Kate Spade purse, grabs the lipstick Amelia gave him, and reapplies it. He then reaches for his mascara wand and re-applies that too. "What am I doing, fixing my makeup in the bathroom mirror? Wtf, that happened so naturally? What am I turning into," he thinks to himself as the dread sets in.

He takes a deep breath, retucks his blouse into his skirt and leaves the washroom, his mind racing with conflicting thoughts. He feels like he's losing his sense of self, but at the same time, he's becoming more comfortable and confident in his new identity as Chloe. He heads to work, his stomach feeling unsettled as he tries to anticipate what the day will bring.

When he arrives at the office, the man at the front desk winks at him as he passes by. Alex finds it strange, but he doesn't have much time to dwell on it as Amelia, Grace, and Nancy are waiting for him at his desk.

That looming dread sets back in as he worries about what they have in store for him next.
