RAEGANS POV

"is that all?"

the guy at the counter asked jack and I whilst looking us up and down, for a second I forgot that I was litterally wearing a white ballgown whilst jack had a suit on. we probably looked like we had just gotten married.

"yep"

"that'll be four seventy five please"

jack swipes his card and grabs the bag of candy

"have a nice day!"

I yell as we walk out the door and I start giggling 

"are you okay?"

"I think I'm on a sugar rush or something"

I say running backwards ahead of him

"raegan!"

I turn around and trip, falling onto a guy who tries to drag me into his car before jack pulls me away and puts his arm around my waist as we start to speedwalk down the street before slowing down again

"you okay?"

he asks while I walk along still in shock about the fact that I just avoided being kidnapped

"yeah"

I whisper, shivering. he rubs his hand up and down my arm before moving it back to my waist as I lean my head on his shoulder

"we're almost at my house"

he stops before speaking again

"you can stay over if you want, or if you'd feel safer at your house I can drive you over there"

"I'll just stay at your house, it's closer"

I take my head off of his shoulder and interlock my hand with his as we approach his front porch. I didn't think he'd take my hand in his but when he did, it felt perfect. 

I break the silence

"I should probably text my mom since it's pretty late and I don't want her worrying about me"

"that's fine, did you wanna take a shower? I can give you some stuff to sleep in since you don't have extra clothes and that dress doesn't look very comfortable"

he squeezes my hand a little

"thanks jack"

I softly sigh as he leads me up to his room, grabbing sweats and a tee out of his dresser drawer

"no problem, there's a shower in my en suite you can use or there's one down the hall"

"I'll just use the one in here"

I reply with a smile, I think he assumes I picked his en suite because it was closer, which was true, but in reality It makes me feel safe whenever I'm near him.
