It was one of those days when everything felt like it was falling apart. Scott had called a meeting with his friends and everyone was sitting at Stiles' house. Scott looked at Allison and Malia while they had wondered what would happen next. Scott knew that if no one did anything regarding the Steiner twins, that things could become ugly really fast.
"Okay, guys," Scott said as everyone looked at him.
"Aiden and Ethan, we need a plan of action regarding them," he said as Allison looked at her boyfriend.
"We take them on then. We fight and then when we think it is all dealt with, we surrender. We can't stand back and watch how two werewolves take over the town," Stiles said as Allison and Malia nodded.
"Okay, who's telling Lydia about this? I'm guessing we need to involve her in it," Scott said as Stiles just shook his head.
"No, she won't be involved," Stiles said.
"We can't just exclude her," Allison said.
It looked like that. It looked like Stiles was purposely excluding Lydia in all of it, but at the same time, he knew that he couldn't risk it.
"Yes, we can!" Malia yelled as she jumped up from the couch.
"She's part of the pack because Derek wants to interfere with the balance!"
Malia was mad about a lot of things, but she was mostly mad about the fact that Lydia was living with her family. Lydia is getting to live the life that Malia should have had, and now things were intense between everyone.
"Why do you want to exclude her?" Scott asked Stiles, knowing there had to be a good reason why Stiles didn't want to involve Lydia.
"She could get hurt. We are all going to be busy fighting. Who is going to ensure she doesn't get hurt? Scott, I can't risk. Derek will kill us," Stiles said.
The fact that they would be fighting was just one reason why Stiles didn't want Lydia there. Recently, Stiles felt more and more like he was developing something for Lydia. They were so alike. And he got along so easily with Lydia. It felt like he knew her for years. And due to his relationship with Malia, he respected the fact that he had to keep his distance.
"Okay then," Scott said as Allison's phone rang.
"Crap. Hi Lyds. What's up?" Allison asked as Scott exhaled.
"Do you maybe wanna go and watch a movie later tonight? I feel bored at home and Derek nor his uncle are home," Lydia said.
She hated referring to her father as Derek's uncle, btu she knew that she had to do that. Allison looked at Scott and Stiles, knowing they could hear the conversation as she exhaled.
"Sorry, Lydia, I can't. I have a lot of work to do. I'll talk to you tomorrow," Allison said ending the phone call.
"Did she buy it?" Scott asked as Allison shrugged her shoulders.
"Don't ask me," Allison said.
"She'll be fine. Derek or Peter are probably there busy consoling her and making her think she still has friends. Come on. Let's go over the plan again," Malia said.
Allison looked at Stiles and for a moment, she saw guilt written on his face. Good, she thought. She hated that Lydia was supposed to be part of the pack yet she was always excluded. She knew things were tough, but she also knew that things were difficult for everyone.
Lydia was sitting on the couch, busy eating out of an old ice cream container when she saw as Derek came into the house. She took another bite of chocolate ice cream as he looked at his cousin and sat down next to her.
"What are you doing?" Derek asked as Lydia shrugged her shoulders and paused the TV.
"Watching Twilight," Lydia honestly admitted as Derek rolled his eyes.
"What I meant, Lyd," Derek said moving closer to his cousin.
"Is why aren't you with your friends," Derek said as Lydia looked at him.
"A, they're not my friends, and b, everyone is busy with homework apparently. Malia anyway doesn't like me so I didn't think they would involve me in anything," Lydia said as Derek exhaled.
"Lydia, they just need to adjust. The group grew, and growing isn't something that any of them are used to. Their wolves. Only Allison is human. But what I can tell you, is that in no time everyone will be your friend and you won't have to worry about things like this. Just give it time," Derek said as Lydia shook her head.
"Derek, I am never going to be one of them. I am an untriggered werewolf with no powers. One that Malia hates, one that was taken in by the Hale family. Why do I need to hide behind this whole Lydia Martin façade?" Lydia asked.
"Just hang in there," Derek said as he heard knocking on the door.
"I've got it," Derek said as he went to the door.
"Allison, what are you doing here?" Derek asked.
"I came by to see Lydia. Is she still up? I know it's late," Allison said.
"Yeah, she's up. Lydia," Derek said as Lydia looked up and saw Allison.
"What are you doing here? I thought you all had homework," Lydia said.
"I figured I could still pop in. Come on. Movie night?" Allison asked.
"I'm heading to bed, so maybe another night," Lydia said as Allison nodded.
"Okay, yeah, sure. See you tomorrow," Allison said and left the Hale residence.
