I awoke curled on the floor. I looked to see that all my siblings were still asleep so I decided to just enjoy the piece and quiet. The sun was barely penetrating through the windows, I could hear the birds in the trees as well as the elk in the forests surrounding us. I gently exhaled in bliss.
Yesterday had been unreal, I was now part of the council. The ceremony was amazing. The setting had been incredible. I am still curious about what my rune does. Mèbh said it was a joint rune, furthermore it is the 'frozen moon'
That alone leaves me with questions that I am unable to find the answers to. Due to each rune reacting differently with each wielder, no one is able to say for sure what each rune will specifically do.I silently stretched my back as a ray of light arced across the room and into my eye. My ears flared up as I heard the soft beating of wings outside. Unlike usual though, the sound is not belonging to Sparks. For the first time in a while I heard falcons flying.
After laying there for another five ish minutes, I eventually gave up on sleep and melted back into my normal body. Carefully and silently, I removed my amulet from my armour. Placing it on the bed, I opened the door and walked outside. A refreshingly cold breeze smacked me in the face. I turned to lean against the railing whilst deciding what to do. After deciding that doing some more training could not hurt, I turned to make my way to the stairs. Where is the fun in that. I turned and did a running leap off of the balcony.
Landing moments later, I turned to look behind me. I was thankful that my siblings had not heard me leaving. I then properly stood up and started walking towards my destination. I was extremely lucky in that no one was up and about. So I was either up extremely early or everyone was still drained from yesterday. Which considering most the people here were Fae, Dwarfs or the odd Elf was surprising as in the majority of the books Bavtec had given me it said how they all were capable of incredible feats of endurance.
Still the birds were singing and all seemed fine with the world as I made my way towards the arena. When I got there I set up the automated dummy area so I could hone my skills against a moving target. The only issue with the dummies were how fragile they are. If I were to properly punch a non-reinforced one, it would shatter into pieces. Still they were perfect for what I would be practicing with, the snap blades.
When I had been given them, I was somewhat confused. At first they made no sense, a small knife sized blade that could become a sword. But after Kratos had explained them I was eager to learn how to use them. As well as the blades, I had been gifted an improved version of my biological mother's bow. Whenever I touched it, I could feel the magic flowing through it.
As I unsheathed the bow from my back, I almost shuddered as I felt the magic reach out to me. I was about to grab the bowstring when I realised it was faintly glowing. Furthermore as I pulled it back, an arrow started to solidify in front of me. Once I let the arrow fire, I was surprised that it had done what I thought it would, shatter upon impact. Curiously, I readied another, this time thinking it will penetrate the target. Upon releasing it, it fully penetrated the target.
The arrows made no sense.
Deciding to consult Bavtec on it later, I re sheathed the bow. I then focused entirely on the snap blades. I activated the automated dummies after reenforcing their armour. As one sprang to life and tried to punch me, I ducked and stabbed it's side. I looked to see a normal blade sized hole, looking back down I saw it was still full sized.
Rotating it in my hand, I spun and stabbed the target behind me. With the second blade rapidly growing, I lunged forward impaling the one in front of me.
These blades were so fun.
After a good while longer practicing with the blades, I decided to practice using magic whilst fighting. I also decided to just use arcane magic just to reduce the chance of me losing control. As the dummies approached, I did nothing to stop them. I allowed them to get closer. Once four of them surrounded me, I struck the ground fiercely. Instantly large ice spikes shot up from the ground in a circle around me.
