A Home Away From Home

I wake up in a truck with Zuri beside me I have a blanket covering my legs

"hey you where pretty tired eh as soon as we got in to the truck you pretty much passed out" "Zuri as soon as we got in the truck she passed out" her mom adds we pull into a long driveway with really big house at the top of it it's way bigger than our house when we get inside its way bigger on the inside

"Ok Zur can you take Ruth to your room while I set up a room for her" she asks as she walks off into a closet

"Yes mother,come on Ruth!" she drags me up the stairs like a happy kid about to show off their toys her room is huge

"whoa"

"yeah it's pretty big your room will be pretty big to but not to big its just a guest room" Zuri flops down on her bed

"todays been pretty stressful sooo do you wanna talk about it?" I stand there as I'm the least pink bright thing in this whole room

"I uh i'm not sure" suddenly I notice a Mitski disc on her dresser

"Hey wait, you listen to Mitski too!" I grab the disc and examine it

"oh yeah I like her music it's really good"

"I do too!" i'm happy that someone else I know actually likes Mitski Faith doesn't really like her songs and Luke's more of a 'rock guy' even though he doesn't seem it he really is one

"Ruth your rooms all setup" Zuri's mom pops her head in the door frame I follow her to the room it's pretty big but empty

"and Ruth if you need to talk about anything you can always talk to us or even Zuri my room is at the end of the hallway and the bath room the the room right next to Zuri's room ok" she leaves and I just sit on the bed thinking about what i've done

'What if mom comes looking for me, maybe I should go back no I can't if I go who knows what will happen will she even know im gone? probably not.' just then a man come in

"HONEY I'M HOME!" he shouts that must be Zuris father she's lucky

"DAD!" Zuri shouts and runs down the stairs to her dad she begins to say something but I can't hear the rest

"Zeke honey I have some news" her mom says

"I already know Zur told me already. So?" I get nervous what he wants me to leave

"Ruth can you come down for a second" I'm really nervous. I go down the stairs very nervously and slowly when the man sees me he's a little surprised probably because of my hair and clothing. They really don't fit this house or family

"Hello Ruth im Zeke." the man lends his hand to be shaken I think about it for a minute the stutter to put my hand in his

"you to sir" he chuckles a man chuckle

"oh please call me Zeke this is my son Zori" the boy looks so tired so he just does a small salute "ah he's probably tired he was working with me in the shop to day"

"yeah and probably for the last time" Zori says as he slugs up the stairs

"I hear you ran into my daughter at the conLu?"

"yeah I actually walked straight into her heh" I laugh a little nervously

"ho I heard that too" Zuri is unable to contain her energy "

I also met all her friends at school and she taught me how to play some guitar strings and she's really good at the guitar and I think you should hear her" she spits it all out in one breath

"So you play guitar?" her asks

"oh uh yeah but i'm not that good Zuris just exaggerating" I say nervously this man is ten times bigger than me
