She grew up in a world that was rough and unkindA world full of shadows, and secrets.
Her dad was a ghost, who came and went
In and out of her life, like she wasn't there
She lived with her grandma, who did all she could
To try to fill the spaces where he lacked
But still, in her heart, there was a deep yearning
For the love of a father, who should've been there
Years passed by, and the girl became a woman
Her dad was still gone, lost in his addiction
But then, came a change, a glimmer of hope
Her dad was in rehab, learning to become happy
The woman went to visit, with a heart full of fear
And found her dad there, seemingly clean
The pain of his past, the hope for his future
A new life ahead, where he's not an abuser
