She held her daughter in her arms,

So tiny, fragile, and new.

A precious gift of life and love,

A dream that had come true.

But as the days turned into weeks,

She felt the darkness creeping in.

A heavy weight upon her chest,

A battle she could not win.

Postpartum depression had taken hold,

A thief that stole her joy and peace.

She felt alone and overwhelmed,

As her inner turmoil would not cease.

Her heart was heavy, her mind confused,

And she struggled to find her way.

But in her daughter's innocent eyes,

She saw a light that shone each day.

So she held on to that hope and love,

And fought her way through the pain.

She reached out for help, understanding,

And slowly, began to heal again.

For though the road was long and hard,

She found the strength to carry on.

And through the love of her precious daughter,

She found the light to guide her home.

Now she looks back on those early days,

And knows that she's not alone.

For there are others who've walked this path,

And they've found a way to come back home.
