making the reader too confused to think about romance yet to achieve sweet sweet slowburn in a soulmates fic

You sat in silence with Sun, both of you unsure of what to say while you waited. Your soulmates were apparently two separate AIs awakened inside the body of a solar-themed animatronic from a major children's entertainment company infamous for having dead kids shoved into their suits. What the hell? The whole situation was absurd.

You felt like you should pinch yourself to make sure you weren't in a fever-induced nightmare. Maybe you passed out between the entrance and the daycare? Sun fidgeted nervously, seeming tense and awkward. That seemed very human. Maybe it wasn't so strange after all?

But who were you kidding? Your life had been a mess of nonsensical, absurd bullshit since day one. You never got a string, unlike literally everyone else in the world. You didn't even realize they were real until much later. You were relentlessly bullied because of the lack of a string that no one would have been able to see on you anyway. And then, randomly in your early twenties, you got a string that led you to a clown robot with dissociative identity disorder working in a pizza establishment!

No matter how many times you tried to make sense of it, you couldn't. You struggled to believe it was real because of its pure absurdity.

looking at Sun though, How he anxiously twiddled his thumbs, sitting with his knees up to his chest, he didn't seem too scary. To be honest, if you were to look past the metal plating at how he was acting, how he's been so excited and nervous to meet you, he was kind of endearing.

You wonder if his counterpart will share that trait.

Sun bolted upright. "I-I'm going to go to our recharge chamber, there's not much time before the lights go out."

You highly doubt Moon will be as pleasant as Sun, considering the hesitance in Sun's voice when speaking of him. and now it seemed Sun was purposefully trying to keep Moon away by going to their recharge chamber for the time being.
"alright, I guess I'll see you when the lights come back on?" you asked

Sun paused, his smile seeming to slowly widen in glee, you wonder how he does that. maybe his smile can't actually change and it's just your mind tricking you based on his very expressive body language. "O-Of course! I can't wait! we'll be able to play games and tell stories and drink Fizzy faz until our heads explode!" He prattled giddily.

He continued to brainstorm activities as he skipped away as if he didn't realise you couldn't hear him the further away he got, or as if he was  mostly talking to himself now.

Once he was gone you glanced at the front entrance. surely if you got within range of a camera a worker would realise you were trapped inside.

You squirmed around, trying to dislodge yourself from behind the display case, you were pretty tightly stuck, your shoulders being lodged between the case and the wall. if you had remained facing the case rather than turning yourself to watch out for Sun when he moved to the entrance of the nook you'd gotten yoursef into you might've been able to slide yourself out easily.

you took a shaky breathe, preparing yourself before you, in one swift movement spun your shoulders, dislodging them and yelping at the pain.

slowly shuffling out you touched the shoulder and recoiled at the instant flash of pain. It seemed that you'd not only dislodged yourself but also something in your shoulder. you testingly rolled your arm, despite the shooting pains and limmited mobility it still moved. Just a muscle then thankfully.

Using your good arm you wiped yourself of the dust that had been behind the case, giving a small sneeze as it invaded your sinuses.

You wandered out into the foyer of the establishment, giving a very ungrateful glare at the imposing metal shutters currently blocking your escape before glancing around for any security cameras.
