"What happened back there?" you questioned Sun anxiously, having to jog a little to keep up with his pace as you both made your way to the exit by the prize counter.

"I-it was nothing!" Sun assured, a nervous stutter cracking through his demeanor.

You were getting frustrated. "It was something! It was a very big, sparky, something! you're not functioning properly it could be dangerous!"

"I KNOW WE'RE NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY." Sun yelled, halting his strides but not turning back to face you.

There was a short silence before he shakily raised his hands up, inspecting them, inspecting the string, before he slapped hem over his mouth and whirled around.
"I-i'm sorry I don't know where that came from."

You stared at him for a moment as you thought. Sun was scared. He only just stared feeling emotions a few weeks ago and for all that time he's been scared. Scared of loosing his freedom, scared of loosing you. Of course he doesn't want to go to parts and services especialy if it means he could be decommisioned. But he also doesn't want you to think he's malfunctioning. He's trying so hard to make a good impression that he won't allow you to see that he has needs. He doesn't want to be seen as a burden.

Your expressioned hardened and you walked up to him.

"It's fine really! just a few loose wires!" Sun prattled anxiously

You, without a word let your head fall onto his chest (ouch that was metal) before raising your arms around him.

he was still for a moment before he hugged back. His body began to shake and you could hear his gears stuttering as if he was holding back sobs.
"Will I ever see you again?" his voice was strained.

you still didn't have an answer for him so instead you asked,
"Promise you'll take care of yourself, please."

Sun may be new to life but he knew how to pick up subtext. He knew you had no plans of coming back.
He let himself cry. He clinged to you tightly and cried. No tears left his plastic eyes and no cries were heard, but his body shook with sobs all the same.

After what felt like an hour, he patted you on the back. You looked up to him as he turned away to wipe away tears that weren't there.
"We should better get moving." He muttered.

You nodded. The rest of the walk was silent, Sun felt raw and exposed after that interaction. You wanted to break the silence, if only to break the awkwardness, But you couldn't bring yourself to say anything.

Before you knew it you were standing in front of a fire escape door. You're finaly out, you can finaly go home and sleep for a week.

You turned back to Sun, he looked awkwardly at the ground before he began to speak.
"I hope I'll see you again."
"someday." he tacked on at the end.

You began to smile however your ears picked up on a hauntingly familiar noise.
the distant thunk of the lights shutting off one by one.
Sun noticed too and began to quickly usher you towards the door.

You grabbed the handle and- it didn't move.

You looked up at Sun in horror as your stomache sunk to your feet.
Sun looked distraught and he quickly pushed himself away from you, trying to get as much distance as possible. You took the hint and began running.

Sun was out of sight and you continued, completely swaddled in darkness as you hear the last light switch off.

Panic began to set in as you raced down the corridor. The only light source came from the neon signage on the walls, casting an eerie glow. You could hear Moon's metal footsteps clanging on the tiles behind you, and his vicious cackles echoed from all directions. You took a sharp turn into a room, hoping to shake him off, but he followed close behind.

You had little to no clue where you were going. It almost felt as if he was playing with you, hearding you this way then that way. You took a left turn, then a right, then a sharp left again.

You felt a sharp pain in your shoulder as you ran, the injury searing at your panicked movement. You didn't dare look back to see how close Moon was getting. You just kept running, hoping to find some way out of this maze.

You turned a corner and nearly ran into a wall. You stumbled back, searching for a way out. You heard Moon's footsteps growing closer and closer, and you knew that you had to act fast.

Your eyes quickly scanned the room for any possible exits. The only way out was through a door on the opposite side of the room. You took a deep breath and made a run for it.

Moon was right behind you, his arms reaching out to grab you. You could feel his cold metal fingers brushing against the back of your shirt. You pushed yourself harder, trying to put as much distance as possible between you and Moon.

You reached the door and pulled it open. Running through and scanning the area you came to realise this was the loading dock and begun looking for the other exit Freddy had mentioned.

You quickly spotted it, the emergency escape lighting being one of the only thing lighting the room.

You felt Moon's claw graze your back and with a burst of adrenaline, you slammed through the doors, ignoring the pain from your shoulder and greatful that it was unlocked.

Your lungs heaved the crisp night air as you turned to look back. Moon had stopped chasing you. he simply stood by the exit, not stepping a foot outside. his grin widened and you heard the jiggling of bells as he waved goodbye.

He had chased you there on purpose.

With too much blood being pumped to your body and not your brain, you didn't bother thinking about the implications of that right now, rather you continued running to the carpark where you quickly jumped in your car and sped off.

Taking a deep breathe you allowed yourself to look back in the rearview mirror as Moon's grinned turned into a grimace, his shoulder's sunk and him demeanor drooped as he turned back inside the plex, giving one more glace out towards you before shutting the door.

and you kept driving.
