Chapter 1

I felt the warm, bright sunlight on my face. When I opened my eyes, I was almost blinded by the light pouring through the window. Reluctantly, I say up and stretched. My birthday was in about a week, and today, I was actually excited to go to school and hand out invitations. I wasn't like the other teenagers in my high school though. First off, I was half mortal, half immortal. My family consisted of all vampires, but my mother had given birth to me while she was still human. She'd nearly died because of it, but my father saved her with his venom. The only problem was-my growth rate. I was only about 2 and a half years old, but I looked and acted like a 15 year old. I leapt out of bed and rushed over to my dresser. After slipping on a pair of jeans and a blue keyhole top, I flew down the stairs. Vampires were extremely fast, strong, and had an amazing sense of hearing, sight and smell. My forever 18 year old mother, Bella Cullen, was seated on Edward Cullen's lap, who was my father. I smiled and took the seat right next to them.

"Hello Mom. Hi Dad," I greeted them. My parents and I held a close relationship.

They both smiled at me. "Oh hello, my beautiful baby girl," Mom crooned, drawing me close to her. Dad just stroked my copper colored hair, softly. My Uncle Emmet laughed and mocked my mother. "Ooh, my precious little girl. Oh how cute! Edward- don't you agree?" He joked, going a little overboard. Mom gave him a glare and before I could blink, she had the neck of his t-shirt in her hand.

"Don't you ever imitate me like that again!" She growled playfully.

Uncle Emmet gave her a wide grin. "Don't you forgot, Bella," he reminded, "you're not a newborn anymore! So I can still kick your ass!"

Mom groaned and let go of him, walking back to me. Suddenly, my Aunt Alice and her mate, Jasper, walked in the dining room. They both gave me a gentle hug and grabbed glasses of deer blood, guzzling it down with one gulp. I took my own glass and had it down in two gulps. Then I grabbed my backpack, said goodbye to my family, and left.
