Chapter 10

I woke up with a start. It was raining so hard, everything looked wet and cloudy blue. There was the sound of the pitter-pattering rain. Against the ground. On the trees. Where was I? The last thing I remembered was riding away from my parents on Jacob. I shut my eyes again. Oh God. How could I treat my family like that?! I didn't deserve to live. Jacob. My chocolate eyes flew open. Where was he? I needed him! Please, please let him be here next to me! I looked around like a maniac, frantically searching. I wanted him!

"JACOB!" I screamed, feeling the tears dripping down my cheeks. The rain felt nice against my skin, and I didn't care that I was drenched. I had to have my soulmate at all times! I collapsed, sticking my face into my knees. I fell over on my side, sobbing. Jacob. Oh God, Jacob. I felt this excruciating pain in my chest area. Like it was empty. A part of me was missing. And he had the magic touch. Only he could mend me. We were inseparable. Absolutely meant for each other.

"Ness?" A voice asked. I looked up. I immediately recognized the person standing before me. It was him.

"Jake!" I cried, leaping up to him. I crushed myself against his warm, bare chest. Jacob seemed surprised at first, but he wrapped his arms around me and breathed into my neck.

"I though I'd lost you, love," I whispered. Silence. "Jake?"

I looked up at his expressionless face.

He burst out into laughter.

"Oh, my silly, silly Nessie!" He snickered, "my perfect little girl!"

I raised an eyebrow.

"What?" I asked him, genuinely confused.

"I would never leave you. I went to go get your parents," he told me.

There were footsteps in the distance. It was Mom and Dad. They smiled at me. They were both soaking wet.

"Why?" I said breathlessly.

Jacob turned to me. His face was very serious. I was getting nervous.

"Ness-I felt your pain. I could tell you regret what you did and said, and the pain was unbearable. I really do care for you, babe." Jacob's last words were hoarse. I glanced tearfully at my loving parents, standing there. They nodded, respectfully and understandingly. That was it. I flew over to them and grabbed them into a bear hug.

"Love you," I murmured.

"Back at you sweetheart," Mom and Dad said softly. We let go of each other and all looked at Jacob.

"Bella and I understand the amazing connection between the two of you," Dad said sternly, "so we will allow you to continue your relationship. But you must not go-too wild, if you understand me."

Jacob and I gaped at each other. I ran to his outstretched arms and we embraced. I looked up into his eyes, and we shared long and passionate kiss.
