Chapter 9
Jacob and I walked arm in arm on the beach. The waves were now calm, and we stood on the golden sand.
"It really is gorgeous," I breathed with emotion. I lay my head on his warm, muscular shoulder.
"Yes, but it's nothing compared to your incredible beauty," Jacob murmured, his eyes full of love.
"Oh you silly mongrel," I laughed, kissing him on the cheek. Jacob let out his hyena snicker and playfully nudged me with his other hand.
"Are you going all Rosalie on me?" He asked, his eyes teasing. I smacked him, and I knew his metal arms couldn't feel it. Jacob turned away to look at the waves lapping longingly at the sand. There was a beautiful sound of his heart beating. It went perfectly with the sound of the slowly moving waves. I took a moment to study him while he looked away. Jacob's face was a beautiful, oval shape, and the sides rounded off into a perfect chin. His hair was jet black and slightly spiked up. His dark, intense eyes shined excitedly as he stared at the waves. Jacob turned back to me as I was staring at him. I gasped and looked away, embarrassed. I felt my cheeks get red hot. When I cautiously looked back about 2 minutes later, Jacob was still staring at me with a serious expression. He leaned in a gave me a warm, soft kiss. He began to wrap both arms around me, gingerly. I reached out and placed one hand on the back of his head, and the other on his shoulder. We were so close together that I didn't think even water could get through. Jacob kissed me faster and squeezed me a bit tighter. I began to get a bit uncomfortable and then...
"Stop!" I shrieked.
Jacob pulled back. "What?"
"Is someone watching?"
Jake looked around. "No...I don't think so. I can't see anyone."
If someone I knew had seen us kiss, I would die!
"Well, I'm gonna check it out," I told him, running over to the cliffs. They towered over me. They were so...rocky. I saw ledges, though. That would make it easier. I'd seen my family members do it a thousand times before. I crouched, ready to spring. Then, I let go and jumped about 100 feet upward. I landed on the closest cliff ledge. I frantically looked around. Nobody. Then, I heard whispering from the top of the cliff. That's when there was a rush of footsteps and the sound of leaves flapping. The sound was getting quieter, meaning the person was running away! I growled and leapt up onto the top. I saw a flash of blonde hair. It was gone in a second.
"Must be a vampire," I said to myself. I tasted the air. No scent of blood. I ran off and began the chase. Then, after a few feet, I stopped. I had an idea. Jumping up, I landed in a high tree branch. I leapt to each one ahead of me. Finally, I caught a glimpse of the blonde hair. Still in the tree, I hopped off-and landed right in front of the vampire. Her face was covered. I snarled and aimed a punch at her. She blocked it with her right arm. I then aimed for her stomach. She blocked that one too, jumping over me, trying to run. But I was too fast. Leaping out, I reached for her leg and grabbed it. I swung her back over my head, and she landed with a thump- in the dirt. I ran about 50 feet over to her and pulled the scarf and jacket away from her face. She looked so familiar...
"Rosalie?" I spat.
Rosalie's face was paler than usual. It was actually now a sick, bluish color.
"H-hello Renesmee...," she said softly.
"Were you spying on me?!" I demanded, my voice rising.
She looked away and nodded.
"Dammit Rosalie! I knew your blonde hair was too noticeable!" A voice screeched. Emmett, Mom, Dad, Alice, Jasper, Carlisle and Esme were standing there. I stood up, enraged.
"You came here to spy on us!" I screamed at them. Mom reached out to me. I drew back and hissed like a cornered cat. "Stay away you traitor!" I warned. Mom gaped at me as Dad pulled her away.
"You're too young for a boyfriend. And he's a werewolf," Carlisle said softly.
I glared at him. He and Esme withered from my vicious stare.
"No I'm not!" I snarled, "I'm in love with Jacob, you had no right to sneak into my love life and force me to do what you want me to!"
"Renesmee-," Alice and Jasper started.
I held up my hand. "Stop it! Just stop! I hate you all!"
Emmett huffed. "You have some nerve, kid!"
I turned to him. "You really want to take it to that level, Em? Cause I WILL fight you," I muttered. Emmett held his hands up and backed away. I turned to Rosalie last. "I thought you were always gonna be on my side. Can't believe how foolish I was!"
I heard Jacob run up to us.
"I heard everything. Leave us alone you filthy leeches!" He yelled.
Mom stared at him, filled with hot anger. She was in attack mode!
"You stinking dog! Stay out of this!" She roared.
"Bella, stop!" Dad shouted.
Mom leapt over to Jacob, reaching for his sweating neck. I screamed and ran over to them, full speed. I grabbed Mom's outstretched arm and pulled her away. She hit a tree and crumbled to the ground. Dad sprinted to her and helped her up. Jacob growled and phased into his wolf form. I climbed into him and we ran off before they could catch up.
