"Steve?!"

The name leaves your lips on surprise, still holding the clipboard over your head as if you were frozen in motion.

"Y/n?!" His head spun at the sound of your voice, confusion lacing his eyes as he cradled his hand.

"Y/n? You're..." Dustin's voice called out from behind you and you turned to face him, lowering the clip board. He stared at you, eyes wide. "... you're a Russian spy?!"

You blinked, dropping the board to let it clatter onto the ground.

"Why the hell is that your first guess?!" You say, exasperated.

"You're full of surprises". He shrugged as Erica looked up at him with an unimpressed look.

"Really?" She said and your eyes widened.

You turn back to Steve who was shaking off the pain in his hand, slowly standing up.

"What the hell is Erica Sinclair doing here?" You ask and he stares at you, shaking his head.

"Erica? What the hell are you doing here?"

"Looking for you!" You yell and Erica clears her throat.

"I was actually kidnapped-"

"Stop saying that!" Both Steve and Dustin shout.

"Guys." Robin calls out, descending some stairs you had failed to notice the first time you were here. "There's something up there."

She notices you stood next to Steve, looking you up and down. "Nice coat."

"Thanks, I was going for mad scientist couture." Your voice was shaky and you didn't know why.

She gave you a brief smile, still looking panicked. "Nice of you to join us. Um... How the hell did you get in?"

"Yeah, I-" Suddenly a chill shot down your spine and you stumble backwards.

A strange siren started blasting in your mind and you groaned in pain, clutching your head.

"Woah, woah, hey. What's going on?" Steve grabbed your shoulder but the siren was getting louder and louder.

"I can't-" You squeeze your eyes shut, collapsing to the floor.

"What's happening to her?" Robin asked, her voice raising.

"Y/n!" Steve tried but you kept shaking your head.

Your mind burned with images of some sort of tear, a giant red streak splitting open something... beating.

It finally faded away and you panted for breath, Steve still holding your shoulders with a deep set frown of worry.

"The gate." You say, looking up at him and he glanced to Dustin. "It's here."

You suddenly stood, running up the stairs Robin had come down from and entering the room, the others following. You immediately stop at the giant windows, staring out at the display.

"Holy shit." Dustin muttered.

In front of you was another lab. There were so many people in hazmat suits walking around, carrying vials of green liquid.

But that wasn't the scary part.

A blue beam of light was shooting from a giant laser in the middle of the room, pointed towards a wall of red flesh. It was tearing a hole in it, slowly but surely and your heart dropped.

They were opening another gate.

"We need to get out of here." You say, your breaths becoming shallower.

If another gate was opening, then that meant the Mind Flayer was going to be more powerful than ever. It meant that Billy and Heather and whoever else it got would be more powerful than ever. It meant your friends were in danger.

You burst out through the door, hearing the others behind you as they left quickly.

"I don't understand. You've seen this before?" Robin asked, confused.

"Not exactly." Steve replied and she cocks her head.

"Then what, exactly?"

"All you need to know is it's bad." Dustin said, panic in his voice.

"It's really bad." Steve confirmed, catching up to you.

"Like, 'end of the human race as we know it' kind of bad." Dustin shivered as Steve wore a look of sheer terror.

"And you know about this how?" Robin shook her head and everyone came to a slow stop. You notice this, turning around

"We really don't have time for this, I need to get back!" You raise your voice and everyone looks to you.

"Um, Steve?" Erica's voice broke through the silence, "Where's your Russian friend?"

Steve looked down at the floor where the guard had passed out. He was no where to be seen.

"Shit." You say just as alarms start blaring.

You run to the door, opening it to see a bunch of guards heading your way.

"They don't look happy!" You share, shutting the door.

"Go, go, go go!" Steve yelled, ushering everyone down a hallway.

You all ran through the next door, panic flooded your body. Your chest started to tighten and you yell in frustration.

"Not now!" You cry, Steve looking to you with furrowed brows.

"What not now?" He asked before he noticed how quick your breaths were. "Oh shit."

"Keep going!" You insist, pushing everyone through the next set of doors.

You ended up in a room of lab coats and you all sprint passed them and down a staircase, towards the laser. The beam cut you all off and everyone was screaming. It was way too chaotic for you to have a panic attack right now.

"This way!" Steve yelled, pushing a man out of the way as he led you down another staircase

"Come on, quick!" Robin yelled as she opened a door and you all stumbled inside, slamming it shut behind you.

"Hold the door!" Steve yelled and everyone used their bodies as a barrier against the door. Soon, the Russian guards were pushing against the other side with more force than you had.

While the others did their best, you looked for an exit, panicking. You then noticed a vent and pointed to it.

"There! Go!" You ran back over and pushed Erica and Dustin over to it. "Guys, go!"

They ran over, breaking it open and looking back.

"Come on!" Dustin yelled at you three but you shook your head.

"Just go! Dustin, please!" He stayed put and you almost cried. "Take Erica and get the hell out of here!"

"I'm not leaving you!" He yelled after Erica climbed through the vent.

"Get help!" You scream, "Go!"

Dustin finally lowered himself in, "I won't forget you!"

"GO!" You all screamed at him and he finally went.

Just in time for the Russian guards to finally burst through the doors, sending you hurtling towards the ground. They all crowded in, aiming their guns at you and you all held your hands up in surrender, praying it would be enough to keep you alive.

You really should have stayed on the surface.
