June
There's a fine line between working hard and being a workaholic person, I was neither of them. I have always believed in giving my best and taking all of it until there's nothing left. The war I'd been fighting for so long with the world seemed never ending and I was not planning to stop anytime soon, not until I crumbled everything in my palm.
Today happened to be an important day. I scrolled through the tab as the wind blew past my hair. Sometimes I hated being in Seoul, it never felt like a home to me even after living here half of my life. Neither I felt I belonged to this busy city which had given nothing but pain in return.
Closing the tab I placed it on my lap, leaning against the seat, staring at the blue sky, the only thing I liked about Seoul. The weather was warm today, the kind of warm when you don't feel like the sun rays are burning your skin and a sweet scent lingering into the air.
"I don't see why I have to be present in the meeting" a voice said beside me, whose presence I'd forgotten until now.
"And whose fault is it that we had rescheduled this meeting"? I turned towards him who gave me an annoyed look. Is this why they say never include family members in business? So even when it is them fucking up with something they feel like it's your fault.
"That fucker pissed me off" my cousin clenched his jaw, anger clearly visible on his eyes. I rolled my eyes at him.
"He pissed you off and you fucked up with the deal we have been trying to get for 3 months and it took me two weeks to finally rescheduled it" I expressed my anger with gritted teeth "me and my employees had to overworked for this" because of that I couldn't even visit the club, but I didn't say that loud.
"If you weren't my cousin I would have fired you long ago" dealing with him felt like dealing with a stubborn child.
"Then you should have, I guess. I'm not interested in this shit position either" Taehyung shouted on my face. Disgusting.
I closed my eyes before opening them again and smacking him on the head. His head jerked forward with an 'ouch'. "Noona why" he whined, he fucking dared to whine.
"Next time don't forget you are talking to your boss, not your Noona. And behave, or next time I'll not hesitate to send you overseas for all the upcoming projects and meetings". I warned him, even though I would never do such a thing to my brother but he needed a lesson.
"Fine," he sulked.
For the rest of the ride to the office we remained silent, knowing I'd hit a nerve. When the car stopped in front of the office he quickly got out of the car, closing the door rather loudly and for a moment I felt bad for my car.
People around me never fail to piss me off even for a single day.
I got out of the car when my driver opened the door for me. Mumbling a 'Thank You' I walked towards the entrance where a very pissed Taehyung was waiting for me while the people around us bowed to both of us. With a quick glance at my wrist watch we entered inside the office and out of habit I walked towards the receptionist. She stood up as soon as she saw me and bowed to me while her eyes lightened up watching the person beside me.
"Good morning Miss Lee and Mr Kim" she greeted us. I nodded and asked her about my schedule for the day.
"A few minutes ago your PA came and I've already given him all the details."
