Jungkook
I stood in front of the door with a beating heart and a confused mind. What Bora said a few minutes ago was still lingering in my head and I couldn't get it out. There was so much to her, so many layers, so many mysteries and I wanted to see the real person behind that enigmatic mask. Like there was a spell around me which kept pushing me towards her. After taking in a long breath I finally lifted my hand to knock on the door. I kept my gaze on the ground forcing myself to think about the meeting instead. While doing my internships I'd never attended a serious meeting but this one might cost my life if something wrong happens. I remembered the conversation I had with my father, he was over the moon when I shared the news. He was proud of me which I never was.
It only takes so little to make our family happy but it takes more than enough to make ourselves happy. I could only go on with my life like everyone did, doing something out of the ordinary might be a mistake. But my insides still itched to break the chain of perfection and step outside the ordinary life.
It only takes so much to make ourselves happy.
I was started by the opening of the door. The aura that radiated from the person was enough to make me take a step back. His eyes were nothing like I'd seen earlier, instead there was coldness, a fierce gaze that was challenging me silently. From head to toe he screamed of money. His eyes scrutinized me from head to toe.
"Are you the Secretary" the deep voice said, raising a questioning eyebrow at me. He stood with so much elegance as his dark eyes stared at me.
"Jeon Jungkook, the PA of Miss Lee sir" I bowed.
"Same thing" he rolled his eyes and stepped aside.
'Not the same' I wanted to say but I kept my mouth shut. The man looked arrogant from head to toe and I held back myself from rolling my eyes at him. Rich people and their attitude. He screamed of money from head to toe, his clothes were probably more expensive than my one year rent. I sighed, knowing very well I'd gotten myself into trouble. Everything that's been happening lately kept confusing even more.
"You look young, why did they even hire you?" Ok it was rude, the tone, the question and that moment I knew I didn't like him at all and probably it was not only me who hated him.
"Because Mr. Kang said he has potential and besides we never hire anyone based on their academic records" my breath got stuck in my throat, my eyes instantly found the brown eyes on me with a subtle smile.
Sometimes I do hate my hormones.
There was a snicker beside me, coming from none other than Mr. Kim. I had decided that I didn't like him very much.
"Mr. Kang never forgets to remind me how I'm not made for this business shit and should just start farming. As if that will suit me" he gestured something with his hands which I was unable to comprehend.
"Bold of him to assume you'd either fit in the field".
"At least I'd still look hot while doing it".
"Narcissistic much".
"Aren't you a hypocrite to say that".
"Don't care, I'm still your boss".
"Wait till I resign from this shitty post".
"As if you got the balls for it".
I looked back and forth at the bickering duo who seemed to have forgotten about their surroundings. Many of the employees had turned their attention towards us but with a quick head shake they went back to their work as if it was not something new for them, but for me. While I had found the situation very much entertaining I couldn't help but interrupt them before I could get fired for nothing.
