take it on the run --- reo speedwagon

[POV]"So, we're just going to talk?" JJ questioned, leaning forward from the back seat. "Like Treaty of Ver-sails type shit?"
"Versailles?" Hershel corrected her pronunciation.
"Whatever."
Rick had agreed to meet with the Governor. He took Hershel, Daryl and JJ with him as back up in case things took a turn for the worse.
"That's the plan, at least." Rick told her, "Just be ready if things go south."
JJ turned her head toward Hershel with a smirk. "We'd be more ready if you'd picked a better getaway driver."
Hershel raised an eyebrow, his tone playful. "What do you mean by that, JJ?"
"You have one leg," she deadpanned. "And it's not even the one you're supposed to drive with."
Rick chuckled and glanced back at his sister. "Yeah, well, he's still better than you."
"Oh, whatever." JJ muttered, "I'll walk back," slouching down in her seat
The group pulled up to the building, Daryl already signaling for Rick to follow him.
"You two stay put," Rick instructed, jumping out of the car.
"Please, I am not waiting in the car," JJ scoffed, trying to open the door. She pulled on the handle multiple times, "He put the child lock on."
JJ huffed in frustration, fiddling with the window button. "Can't even roll down the damn window."
Hershel, sitting in the front seat with his gun at the ready, chuckled. "It's not funny."
"I think it's pretty funny," Hershel said, still laughing.
After JJ and Hershel had been waiting in the car for a while, Daryl approached Hershel's open window. "He's already in there. Set down with Rick."
Hershel peered around, scanning the area. "I don't see any cars."
"It don't feel right. Keep it running." Daryl's attention was drawn by the sound of tires approaching behind them. "Heads up."
"Mr. G, take the child safety lock off," JJ said urgently, ready with her gun and trying to open the door. Hershel searched for the button, his movements increasingly frantic.
"It should be—" JJ motioned, her frustration growing. "No, on the—other way. No—just forget it." She threw up her hands and crawled over the console into the passenger seat, then out the door.
Daryl watched with a mix of judgment and amusement as JJ awkwardly maneuvered her way out of the car. His look reflected the confusing stunt he'd just watched.
JJ caught her breath and relaxed her hands on her hips as she stood beside the car before noticing Daryl's judgement.
"Rick put the child lock on my door," She explained.
Daryl stifled a laugh as Hershel shook his head in amusement.
She looked between the two, insisting, "It's not funny."
The truck pulled up, its engine growling as it came to a stop as Milton, Andrea, and another of the Governor's 'employees' jumped out. Their faces set in a mix of irritation and concern. As they stepped onto the dusty ground, Daryl's eyes narrowed, a scowl twisting his features.
"What the hell? Why's your boy already in there?" He snapped.
Andrea's brows knitted together in confusion. "He's here already?"
