fluff- 3

I sit beside him "hey"

"hey" he tries to be enthusiastic but I can tell that it's fake.

"hey baby yknow you can tell me anything and i won't be mad at you right?" I ask softly.

"yeah i know, what's wrong?" he seems really confused.

I have to admit that finding out he lied about getting the hockey scholarship from his friends hurt but i'll hear him out first because I need to understand his reasoning.

"yknow you don't need to lie to me about anything" I tell him hoping that he'll come clean on his own.

"yes of course"

I decide to get to the point after that, sort of.
"okay so i recently heard that you lied to me and that really hurt so if you talk to me about it we can fix the problem" after he didn't answer for a while I got up from the bench and started walking away.

He held my wrist as I was leaving, "i'm sorry" he brings me close and rests his head on top of my stomach.

I run my fingers through his hair softly."come on, i'm taking you somewhere" I hold out my hand to him and he takes it, we head to my car and I walk to the driver's seat.

Once he enters the passenger seat he asks "what about my car it's still there" I simply tell him that we can get it later or tell one of his friends to get it for him.

After driving for about 20 mins he asks "where are we going?"

"a place", he stays quite the next 20 mins and soon enough we reach the clearing.

"come on get out of the car" I tell him, getting out myself.

I quickly get the blanket from the backseat and make sure he's following me then continue my way to the middle of the clearing.

I put the blanket down and sit on it, "here come lay your head on my lap, and if it isn't comfortable i can lay down and you can lay on top of me alright? whatever you prefer" I try my best to make him comfortable.

"can we lay down please" he ask softly.

"ofcourse" I quickly answer laying down and he follows suit laying down on top of me with both his legs between mine and his head resting half on my chest and half on the crook of my neck.

I quickly start playing with his hair before asking carefully "are you ready to talk about it?"

He answers a beat later "yeah okay" and then continues "i'm guessing you know i didn't get the scholarship" I hum letting him know that he's right without interrupting.

"so i did get a scholarship just not in [insert uni name]" once again i'm quiet letting him continue.

"i got a scholarship in [uni name where they live], i know that the uni you got your full scholarship in is pretty far from here and if i told you that my full scholarship was here then you'd want to stay here since you have a scholarship in [same uni] too but it's not a full scholarship and i don't want you making your college decisions based on me"

After he's done i'm still running my fingers through his hair and mulling over what he said.

I quickly kiss his forehead before saying, "okay i know that you're intentions were good but you shouldn't lie to me"

"i kno-" I interrupt him, "you should've just talked to me about it. if it will make you feel guilty if i change universities because of you then i won't do it okay?"

"okay" he sighs quietly.

I pull his head up so he's looking at me and give him a quick kiss, "i'm so proud of you" I tell him sincerely.

He looks confused. "what? why, i lied to you" he looks down ashamed after saying the last part.

I start laughing and he just looks at me with frown not understanding what's going on.

I smooth the lines that formed in between his brows and then tell him, "not for that idiot, but for getting a scholarship"

He just buries his head in my neck so I can't see him blushing. "i'm so sorry about lying to you, i'll never do it again. i love you" he says giving me a small kiss on my neck.

"it's okay, i forgive you and i know you won't do it again. i love you more" I kiss his forehead once more then we just lay there watching the stars with him laying on top of me.
