Y/N is one of the six original Avengers, he is known as Hulk when he gets angry. Natasha is the only person who can calm him down and that is why he feels safest when with her.

After fighting Ultron and the Maximoff twins in a shipyard off the African Coast, the team are still experiencing the after effects of Wanda's hallucinations. They have decided to lay low at Clint's house.

Y/N walks out of the bathroom and sees Natasha waiting outside, still feeling the effects as he dries his hair.

"I didn't realise you were waiting."

"I would've joined you, but uh, it didn't seem like the right time."

"They used up all the hot water."

"I should've joined you."

"Yeah you should have."

He smirks which she returns before his falls as he sits on the bed, Nat sitting beside him rubbing his back.

"What's wrong Y/N?"

"The world just saw the Hulk. The real Hulk, for the first time. I'm gonna have to leave."

"I could go with you."

He looks at her with a raised eyebrow.

"I had this, um, dream. The kind that seems normal at the time but when you wake...."

"What did you dream?"

He wraps his arm over her shoulder and pulls her into him.

"That I was an Avenger. That I was anything more than the assassin they made me."

"You are an Avenger Nat. You are more than what they trained you to be, you're being hard on yourself."

"Here I was hoping that was your job."

She leans closer to him, their lips ghosting each other.

"That could be arranged but only if you answer me one thing."

"What?"

"What are you doing?"

He tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear as he cups her cheek.

"I'm running with it, with you. If running's the plan, as far as you want."

"You're not afraid of me? Of what I become? The threat that I am?"

"You're not a threat to me."

He smiles softly and leans in kissing her softly which she returns.

"What were you saying about hoping it was my job to be hard on you?"

She chuckles as he leans them back onto the bed kissing her softly again resting his forehead on hers.

"Are you sure you want to run with me Nat? I can't give you what other guys can, I can't have kids."

"Neither can I. In the Red Room, where I was trained, where I was raised, um, they have a graduation ceremony. They sterilize you. It's efficient. One less thing to worry about. The one thing that might matter more than a mission. It makes everything easier. Even killing."

She hesitates as she looks up into his E/C gentle eyes.

"You still think you're the only monster on the team?"

"You are not a monster Natasha. You are a beautiful woman who never had a choice."

She tears up pulling him down crying into his shoulder as he rolls onto his back holding her. Someone has finally seen her for something more than an assassin and she feels so relieved.

After a few minutes of silence he decides to break it, it is now or never. They may not get a chance like this again.

"Nat?"

"Yeah?"

"You know how to fly the jet right?"

"Yes why?"

She looks at him as she sits on his stomach rubbing his chest. A smile crosses his face as he looks up at her.

"Run away with me Natasha."

"Really?"

"We can start over. I can work on my science, you could get a nice job you enjoy. If they really need us we'll come back but I'm tired of being a pawn in their games aren't you?"

"Yes I wanna start over with you."

"Then let's go."

They chuckle as they climb off the bed, Natasha getting dressed before they both put shoes on. He takes her hand as they sneak down the stairs and outside.

They start running towards the jet laughing together as they hold hands. They get on the jet and get in their seats looking at each other.

"We're really doing this?"

"Yeah we are."

"I love you Natasha."

"I love you Y/N."

They fly off into the sky away from the life they once lived to start new with each other. No longer afraid of what's inside because the other finds them perfect inside and out.
