Natasha is reading her book in bed when she hears the spare room door opening and not long after, her bedroom door opens.

"Natty."

"Yes Y/N?"

Y/N, Yelena's best friend, walks closer to Nat's bed as she marks her page, putting her book to the side.

"I had a bad dream."

He climbs onto the bed, sitting crossed legged by Nat's feet.

"Do you want me to wake my parents to bring you home?"

He shakes his head.

"Then what?"

"Can I stay here? With you."

The ten year old looks at the smaller male who plays with his fingers.

"Fine. Just once."

He smiles before climbing under the covers. Nat lays down, turning off the lamp by her bed as the six year old turns away from her. Nat closes her eyes, ready to sleep but the boy beside her has other ideas.

"Natty."

"Yes Y/N?"

"Can we cuddle?"

"Don't you have a teddy?"

"I let Yelena sleep with it, she lost hers."

Nat sighs before pulling Y/N into her. He snuggles close with a smile as Nat wraps her arms around him.

"Now are you comfy?"

"Yup."

"Can we go sleep now?"

"Yep."

The two of them fall asleep, having a nice relaxed sleep with the warmth and comfort the other provides them with.

One year later, Natasha rides her bike before stopping by some trees. She makes her way through the trees before whistling.

Two whistles follow before she sees Y/N and Yelena on the swings. Y/N jumps off, rolling before getting up and running to Nat engulfing her in a hug which she returns.

"Hey Natty."

"Hi Y/N."

The three play until their moms take them home, none of them knowing it'd be the last time they see each other for years.

Seventeen years later, Natasha and Yelena are sitting in a café reminiscing about Ohio, their memories with Y/N.

"I use to think he had a crush on you."

"Oh he definitely did."

The two of them laugh, remembering how Y/N always use to want Nat's attention on him. The little smile he would always give her. How he would always go to her when he was scared.

"I miss him so much."

"Me too Yelena."

A man sitting at his laptop looks up at the familiar name. He turns to his left, seeing a blonde haired woman sitting across from a red haired woman.

He examines them, noticing how they both seem similar to when they were young. He smiles softly, remembering them.

"Never in my life did I think I would hear that name again."

The two women look to their right, looking at the man who spoke. The e/c eyes and h/c hair.

"Y/N?"

He smiles wide, standing up as the two women do the same. Yelena rushes to him, hugging him tightly which he returns.

"God you've grown so much."

"Well I'm not five anymore."

He smiles, kissing her head before looking at Nat who smiles at him.

"Natty."

"Hi Y/N."

He rushes to her, hugging her tightly to him as a toothy grin plasters his face as she hugs him tightly.

The three sit down, catching up on what they have all been up to since the girls left Ohio and were taken to the red room.

"Sounds like you two had a rough life. I'm glad you both got out and took it down, big Avengers now huh?"

"What have you been up to Y/N?"

"Well a year after you two left without a word, my parents got involved with the group called Hydra. They experimented on me, made me a weapon, a soldier. I didn't get out until it was taken down by Captain America."

"Nat helped with that."

Y/N looks adoringly at Nat who smiles.

"Should've known. You always were my hero."

The two women convince Y/N to join the Avengers with them, moving him into the compound and introducing him to the team.

Nat is reading her book late that night in bed before her bedroom door opens and Y/N smiles softly at her.

"Hey Natty."

She looks up from her book, before marking the page and putting her book to the side as he walks closer to bed before sitting on it, crossed legged.

"This reminds me of when you were six and had a nightmare while sleeping over."

"Then you know why I'm here."

Nat smiles before nodding. She lays down before opening the covers making Y/N chuckle before climbing under and snuggling into Nat with a smile on his face.

"Natty?"

"Yeah?"

"I love you more than I should. I always have."

"I could tell."

He blushes, looking away from her. She tilts his head to look at her before kissing him softly which he returns, turning more red.

"You're lucky I feel the same way."

He smiles.

"Thank god for nightmares huh?"

Nat chuckles before pulling Y/N's head to her chest, as they both fall asleep feeling happy, relaxed and warm.
