(The urge to call this Mommy Bishop was strong and still is)
Y/N is the boyfriend of the one and only Kate Bishop aka Hawkeye. Y/N is the well known superhero, Captain America, taking the mantel from his father Steve.
Today is the day he is going to meet Eleanor, Kate's mom. Despite being raised like a gentleman from his father, Y/N is nervous that he will say or do something wrong and mess up his relationship with Kate.
He is currently fixing his shirt in the mirror, brushing out the crinkles. The bedroom door of his apartment opens, his girlfriend coming into view.
"Look at you all handsome."
He turns around with a smile looking at Kate.
"And you are even more beautiful than the last time I saw you."
She laughs wrapping her arms around his neck.
"You saw me before you went to get a shower."
"And you get more beautiful every time I see you."
He gives her a quick peck and she starts fixing his hair before kissing his cheek.
"Come on let's go."
She takes his hand as he grabs his shoes and they leave the apartment.
"Wait I need to put my shoes on."
"Put them on in the car."
She looks back at him as he purposely walks like a penguin, his socks not fully on either. She laughs shaking her head before stopping.
He pulls his socks up before rolling them down and putting on his shoes. He takes her hand again with a smile.
"Come on my little penguin."
He laughs as they walk down the street to Y/N's car. As they're walking he notices a pebble picking it up as she continues to lead the way.
"Baby."
"Yes penguin?"
She looks to her side as he hands her a pebble making her chuckle. She takes it putting it in her bag and kissing his cheek.
"So sweet."
He smiles happily before opening the car door for her, closing it once she's inside and getting in himself.
After a few minutes in traffic and Y/N tapping along to the song on the steering wheel, they arrive at Eleanor's apartment block.
He parks the car before running around to Kate's side and opening her door. She smiles taking his hand and leading the way.
She walks in and he follows looking around the expensive apartment. An older woman walks out as he is zoned out looking around.
"Kate hi."
She hugs her daughter before noticing the boyfriend.
"Y/N."
Kate touches his arm making him snap back to reality.
"Hi, I'm Y/N."
"Eleanor."
The two shake hands before they all head into the kitchen to get the food. They bring the food over to the table before sitting down at the table and eating while Y/N and Eleanor get to know each other.
"So Y/N what do you do?"
"I work in construction, L/N Constructs Ltd is my father's business. We run it together."
"That's impressive for someone so young."
"Well when you know what you love doing why waste time doing something you don't enjoy?"
He meets Kate's eyes, winking which goes unnoticed by Eleanor but Kate smirks to herself knowing what he implied.
"So how did you meet my daughter?"
"Mom, no one needs to know that."
"It was very funny-"
"Y/N!"
"Please let me tell it."
He pouts and gives her puppy eyes making her melt.
"Fine."
"Yay! So I was working on a job down town for a private firm so we were putting new cement for the sidewalk. Your daughter, being the loveable clumsy girl we know and love, decided it would be a good idea to walk on wet cement. She panicked and started screaming so I ran to help her and pulled her out but again she's clumsy so she knocked me over and we both felt into wet mud."
He chuckles telling the story with a smile, Kate hiding her face as her mother laughs.
"That's my Kate."
"I love her a lot."
Kate smiles at him holding his hand over the table. Eleanor looks at the two, knowing they are deeply in love and he will treat her daughter right.
