Adam and Hannah lay in the boy's bed, the sheets pulled up to their chests as they were playing with each other's fingers and stared up at the ceiling in a safe and comfortable silence.
"Thank you." Adam spoke quietly.
Hannah glanced over at him, "For what?"
"For trusting enough to do that." He whispered.
Hannah shrugged with a small smile, "Well, thank you for being someone I can trust. I've never done that before and had it actually meant something."
Adam smiled, kissing the crown of her head as she snuggled into his side and another comfortable silenced ensued.
"I love you."
Hannah's eyes widened and her movements froze as she stared at the ceiling, shocked.
"Hannah?"
"Uh, what-what did you just say?" She whispered.
"That I love you."
"Yeah, I thought that was it." The redhead muttered, sitting up and holding the sheets to her chest.
"H-Have I totally misread this situation?" Adam panicked, also sitting up.
"No," Hannah shook her head rapidly, turning to look at him, her hands shaking nervously, "No, you haven't. I'd never do that to you."
"So... you do like me?" Adam asked.
Hannah couldn't help but let out a small laugh, "Yes. Yes I do. A lot," She admitted, looking up at the boy through her eyelashes, "And you... you lo-love me?"
Adam nodded sheepishly, "I have for a while now. I think everyone except you knew."
Hannah chuckled, "That would be right. I've never gotten the whole love thing," She admitted, reaching out to play with the boy's fingers, "I mean, you've seen my parents, I don't think I've ever been surrounded by true love - except your parents, of course. I know family love and I know friend love."
"And- And are you willing to learn my love?" Adam asked, "That sounded weird."
