After dropping Midoriya off and assuring that he would be okay, and making him prinky promise to call...
Hawks flew back to Mirko's apartment as fast as he could, but found she wasn't home.
Then remembered it was still working hours for them, and called her.
She picked up quickly.
"Kei? Is everything okay?"
"Rumi. Hey- I just- I need to talk to you in person. Are you free right now?" He asked shakily.
"Sure. I can decline this next job, where do you wanna meet?"
"I'm at your apartment." He said.
"You haven't drank again have you?" She asked wearily.
"No. No I promise I haven't. Just- just come please." He said, "I'm not- I'm fine. I promise I just need to apologize. In person."
He could hear her take a relieved breath.
"Okay. I'll be right there."
A couple minutes later she hopped in the front door. Before she could even finish locking them inside, Hawks had attacked her in a hug.
"Rumi, I'm so sorry. I didnt- you're right. And I'm gonna try and be better." He said nervously, "I'm gonna try to get better."
She squeezed him tightly, rubbing his back.
"I forgive you. I know you're struggling and I might never ever understand. I just think you need more help than I can give you." She said solemnly.
"I don't know what to do." He said shakily, "I just- my body needs it. I'm shaky and I have a headache and I know it's withdrawal and I know my body is sick because of what ive been doing to it I just-" he let out a hiccup, "I think it's an addiction."
"There's clinics, there's places you can go." She whispered to him, still rubbing his back, "talk to your therapist. You have another session tomorrow. You can get help, you're allowed to get help." She pushed.
"It feels impossible. I promised- I promised I'd stay sober tonight but its all... Everything feels like it's falling apart around me and the only way to fix that feeling is by drinking." He cried.
Rumi squeezed him tight before letting go and pulling out her phone, "look, let's call off of work early. Let's sit down, let's make a couple calls, and let's just fuckin relax. We'll watch a movie or something, get your mind off of it."
"It's so physical." He said, his voice audibly trembling, "I want it so bad it hurts."
"Who'd you promise you wouldn't drink to?" She asked, having figured out it wasn't to himself. He didn't have that kind of drive at the moment.
"Remember that kid from UA? The one with the green hair?" Hawks asked.
"Midoriya?"
"Midoriya."
"How'd that come about?" She questioned.
"I crashed into the same roof he was sitting on." He said simply, intending to continue but being interupted.
"The roof? Why was he on the roof?"
Mirko asked seriously."He's okay. He was just spending a little time alone before he had to go home for the weekend. I was about to have a whole breakdown after our fight. I was still majorly hungover. I puked. We got into alcoholism. His dad is an alcoholic and a druggie and treats the people around him like shit. I realized I've been treating you like shit and I never ever wanna be the kinda person my parents were to me because that's what they're like to Midoriya and I dunno run of the mill, I flew him to where he needed to get to and gave him my phone number and told him if he needs anything at all to call me and he asked me if I'd be drunk and I pinkie swore I wouldn't. So I have to stay sober." He summarized.
