Mingi wasn't sure how else to describe what happened on the ship then other than dead silence. No one moved except for all of a sudden when Hongjoong spoke up.

"We have to go down there, we have to help him. Help him! NOW!" His words increased in urgency the more he spoke, so much so that it intimidated even Mingi himself. Who usually wasn't afraid of the captain. But now he felt like what the captain wanted done had to be done.

So, when no one moved Mingi decided to take it upon himself to get everyone ready. Because they were moving closer at an oh so steady rate and he felt the ship decreasing in altitude which meant that whatever they were going into they would be in the middle of.

"EVERYONE, PAY ATTENTION!" He shouted as loud as he could, startling everyone except Seonghwa and Hongjoong.

This seemed to work as Yunho dropped down slightly louder than normal from the sails, Yeosang turned to face him fully even though he never really listened to him before. Even Jongho the guy who seemed like he really needed to get that sour candy out of his mouth, listened to him. They had been getting along during dinner but this was a whole other situation entirely.

"I'll be honest. I have no idea why we are going down there. But what I do know is we have someone to help. So do that and perhaps it'll be easy."

Curse him and his stupid mouth.

San wasn't happy that this was how his day was turning out. He had a squad of empire soldiers on his trail that shouldn't even be this far out anyway. They were near Illusiona goddammit. Was this what he paid that ship for? To die anyway?

But if there was one thing about San is that he didn't go down easy. Especially after all his efforts to stay free and alive.

The soldiers had gotten way too close and he had even been forced to fight some of them hand to hand. Stragglers from the group he was like they hadn't formed a proper formation and ganged up on him yet. Especially since these soldiers were strong, way stronger than any regular soldiers he had ever fought before.

So he did what any sensible person would do in a situation like this.

He started setting the forest on fire.

And by that he meant to cut off the soldiers on his back because even if they couldn't go through fire no human could but somehow, they kept finding a way around and he kept setting more. San was aware of the smoke filling the air and how much lighter the forest was from when he started but he didn't care much.

He was not going to die or be taken. He would get away somehow, he always found a way. But he certainly didn't expect the thing that saved him to be that way.

Two or three or wait, maybe four soldiers had gotten to him and were beating him. They were trying to tie his hands together but he was still fighting back. He wouldn't be put in chains ever again. He would rather die.

Then the most bizarre thing happened.

He heard a thunderclap, except the sky had been the clearest he had ever seen it tonight. Even stranger after the thunderclap, the soldiers on top of him were gone. All he heard was screaming before he heard thuds.

Even in his hazy beaten-up state San could recognize a good opportunity and struggled to his feet. His hands were half tied up and he frantically ripped them loose.
