Plot: Angel had a rough day, so Alastor decided to try and make it better with a small date
~☆~
Angel sighed as he walked through the hotel doors, running a hand through his hair after the terrible day he'd had. His lower back was sore, his mood was ruined, and now all he wanted to do was take a shower and crash.
Alastor looked up from the book he was reading on the lobby couch, confused. Usually, Angel would run up and engulf him in a hug the moment he got home. But not today.
Setting the book aside, the shorter demon stood and walked over to the spider, gently grabbing his wrist to stop him from walking off. "Darling?" Alastor asked softly, hoping to catch Angel's eye, but Angel didn't turn around. "Is something troubling you, my dear?"
Angel quickly wiped at the tears forming in his eyes and turned to face Alastor with a forced smile. "Just a rough day, Al. Don't worry about it. I'm just gonna head to my room and take a shower."
Not wanting to push him further, Alastor let go and watched as Angel disappeared down the hallway.
He hated seeing his lover upset. Alastor may have been a monster by most definitions, but when it came to Angel, he was utterly devoted... and vengeful. If he knew who had caused Angel such pain, he'd have orchestrated a slow and theatrical demise for them. But lacking a target, he resorted to a different plan.
Grabbing his book, he headed to his bedroom to put it away, and to write a small note.
When he opened the door, Fat Nuggets was sitting on the bed where Angel had left him earlier.
"Ah, Bacon. Perfect timing," Alastor said, moving to his desk and pulling out a piece of paper and a pen. "Think you can deliver something for me?" Fat Nuggets oinked and hopped down to sit by the desk. "Excellent. Here you go. You're lucky you're helpful, otherwise I'd cook you." The pig took the note gently in his mouth. "Off you go." With a snap of Alastor's fingers, the pig vanished, teleported to Angel's room. Alastor, satisfied, made his way up to the roof.

Angel sighed in relief as he stepped out of the bathroom, adjusting the towel around his waist. He froze when he saw Fat Nuggets waddling toward him with a slip of paper in his mouth.
Picking him up, Angel smiled and kissed the pig on the head. "Hey, Nuggs! I thought I left ya in Al's room. How'd ya get in here?" The pig let go of the paper, and it fluttered into Angel's free hand. "Oh, you're a little delivery boy today? Good boy. Go play," he said, setting Fat Nuggets down before unfolding the note.
Hello, my dear. Whenever you're ready, please meet me on the roof. I have prepared a surprise for you. -Alastor
Angel grinned, folding the note neatly and placing it on his desk. He practically skipped over to his closet in excitement.
He wanted something comfortable, but still stylish. This had to be a date.
Pulling out a short red sparkly dress, he held it up for Fat Nuggets' approval. "Whatcha think, Nuggs? Pair it with the red heels?"
The pig oinked in approval. Angel chuckled, slipping into the dress and heels, then sitting at his vanity. He unwrapped the towel from his head, quickly fixing up his hair and smoothing it into shape. A final touch, black gloves, completed the look.
"Alright, I'm off. Love you, Nuggs," he said, patting the pig on the head before making his way upstairs.
His breath caught when he reached the rooftop.
There, under the soft glow of the moon, was a small table set for two, flickering with candlelight. A record player rested nearby, a romantic detail he hadn't expected. And there was Alastor, standing tall with a warm smile.
Angel's smile bloomed as he approached. Alastor stepped forward, taking his gloved hand and placing a kiss on it.
"You look beautiful, darling," he said, then pulled out a chair for Angel.
"Aww, thanks, Al," Angel replied, sitting down as Alastor pushed the chair in. "What's all this for?"
"No reason. I just wanted a nice evening with my lover," Alastor said, sitting across from him. "Besides, you deserved a peaceful night."
Angel looked down, a blush spreading across his cheeks. Part of him felt like he didn't deserve it, but Alastor had always made him feel cherished.
Alastor stood again, walking over to the record player. Smooth jazz floated into the air. He returned and gently lifted Angel's chin.
"Dance with me?" he asked, offering his hand for Angel to take. Angel placed his hand in Alastor's with a smile.
They stepped away from the table. Alastor's hand settled on Angel's waist, while Angel placed his free hand on Alastor's shoulder. The two of them began to sway gently to the music.
Angel giggled when Alastor spun him before pulling him close again.
"Thank you for this, Al," Angel murmured.
"It was no trouble at all, Angel. Like I said, you deserved it."
"You're too sweet to me," Angel said with a bashful laugh. "Past me wouldn't believe that a demon like you would be like this."
"I'm full of surprises, my dear."
And so, the night passed. Dinner, soft music, dancing beneath the stars. It was a night Angel would never forget.
