They arrived back at camp, to be greeted with a barrage of questions from both Koga and Inuyasha. "What the hell happened, Ruma!?".... "Are you alright, half demon? Are you sure you can do this? Maybe we shouldn't risk it.".... "Dammit! Shut up, wolf!...talk to me, Ruma...why did you black out? You scared the shit outta me. This can't happen again, dammit! You ain't gonna take a fucking risk like that against that damn dragon."
God, he is so much like his brother, trying to look out for me by giving commands...he just sounded more like a damned pirate. She smiled inwardly...at least she knew that they cared. Kinda sweet in annoying sort of way...even the wolf was worried about her, but he wasn't quite such an ass about it.
She threw up her hands, palm side out, pulling them down slowly in a calming gesture. "Easy, boys. I'm okay..." she stepped to Inuyasha and wrapped her hand around his shoulder and gave a gentle squeeze. "I didn't mean to scare you, love, and it won't happen again, I promise. We must practice though...in fact, I strongly encourage it. Sing whenever you can..." she turned to address everyone, her hand still on Inuyasha's shoulder. "Everyone should practice, even without the Serenade...as Koga said, just another form of training."
"Tell me how you can promise that, Ruma..." Inuyasha spoke to her quietly, his words catching at her heart. "I don't wanna lose you again...it was way too hard the first time. You died once... not again, dammit..." her eyes came back to his. He looks so upset...worried. Poor pup... "I just got you back...you brought this family together...you have to remain a part of it."
She smiled softly at him. He always had a hard time with expressing his feelings...well, other than anger. Anger is his go to emotion...so, when the softer side of Inuyasha surfaced, it was humble and sweet, and pulled at her heartstrings. "I'm not going anywhere, Inuyasha. I intend to remain a part of this family forever, boy. I would not take the risk if I thought I couldn't handle it, love. I have way too much to live for...I have been waiting over two thousand years for my life to begin, now that it has, I will live it out. You will be an uncle come this time next year...and I promised Kagome we will raise our pups together. It was my mistake that I passed out earlier, my own stupidity and easily remedied. I will not make that mistake again. Please trust me, Inuyasha, have faith in me. Your belief in me is my strength...I can do this."
"Okay...if you say so, Ruma. I'm gonna hold you to all of that...it sounds good...and I look forward to that future. Heh...just picturing training our pups together...it makes me feel warm, happy." Karuma closed her eyes...yes, yes I want that. "I bet your kids are gonna be damned strong too, Ruma. If they take after their parents...I mean, the two of you mixed together, damn. You're gonna have your hands full, sister."
She nodded, smiling, in full agreement. "I look forward to the day their strength surpasses mine. I would definitely be one proud mama. I just pray that their strength of character matches their physical strength." She gave another gentle squeeze to Inuyasha's shoulder, then released him.
Sesshomaru spoke beside her. "If they are anything like you sweetheart, you have absolutely nothing to worry about." Aww. Dammit...his arm came around her shoulder. He leaned in closer to her ear, speaking softly. "And, if we have any girls as beautiful as you...I shall have my hands full as well, slaying unworthy males who show any interest."
She chuckled. "At least give em a chance to prove themselves, my love...before you sully your hands. It's funny how people surprise you once you give em a slim chance."
"That is very true, Karuma. You definitely surprised the hell out of me. We shall compromise... you tell me which ones to dispose of. I trust your judgment, sweetheart...I find myself liking that wolf more and more. He was a good ally to make, it seems he genuinely cares about you...and, wolves are nothing if not loyal. You did well, princess."
"Thank you, Sesshomaru. That means a lot...I care about the wolf too. If it would be alright with you, I would like to make an effort and be more than just an ally to Koga. I wish to be his friend...you know..." she smiled, "interact with him other than when I need his help. He makes me laugh, and gives as good as he gets. And I think you would benefit by having a friend as well... you should take a chance, love. Approach the wolf in a peaceful way. Just be your charming self, I think Koga would really like you." And Koga would definitely be surprised if Sesshomaru approached him in a friendly manner. She smiled again just thinking about it.
Karuma looked up at him. His eyebrow was raised looking down at her. "I honestly don't know, princess. I have never tried to be friendly to anyone. I don't know how to begin."
She chuckled. "Make him laugh. Humor is a universal language, my love, remember?"
"So let's not do that again, okay Karuma." Koga spoke up, stepping closer and braving the beast himself. He looked closer at her face as it heated up, like he was reading her mind, he squinted his eyes at her. He smirked, his fangs peaking out, chuckling as he noticed her blush. "No worse for wear I see...in fact, you have a definite glow about you, half demon. That little nap did ya good." Her cheeks turned a bright red now...but Sesshomaru...he burst out laughing. Koga laughed along with him. "Good to hear you have a sense of humor...Sesshomaru."
"Just don't press your luck, wolf. Step back...please."
"Right. I apologize, tensions are high." He stepped back again. "We should put some miles behind us though...if you are ready, princess." That was surprising. Never heard him laugh before. Maybe Sesshomaru isn't as up tight as I originally thought. Karuma definitely cares for him. Maybe I should give the elder brother a chance, Koga thought.
"Yes, just let me call to Ah-Un and we will be on our way." She tried to step away from Sesshomaru to retrieve her armor, but he shadowed her every move. Chuckling, she let out a ear piercing howl, trying to direct it away from Sesshomaru's ear. A roar answered in the distance.
Damn...maybe she has a bit of wolf in her blood! "Wow, Karuma! If I didn't know any better, I would swear you were another wolf...it was you I heard at the floating castle! It makes sense now...thought they had a wolf there. That was pretty good, princess." Koga remarked, making her blush yet again.
"Thank you, Koga. It was the first thing that came to me when I made a call for Ah-Un. Wolf calls carry rather far." Ah-Un appeared from the fields, happily high stepping to her and actually wagging their tail. Geez...I better spend some more time with them. Judging by their greeting, they missed me. "Good morning, loves. I trust you had a good night? Hope you found some good grazing." They 'chuffed' a greeting, stopping in front of her, they rested both heads on her shoulders. She wrapped her arms around their necks and squeezed. A happy groan rumbled their chest as she embraced them. She spoke softly to them. "I'm sorry I haven't been around much. I've been going through a lot. I hope you understand." They groaned again, turning their heads, they both licked her cheeks. "Thanks, boys. You two are awesome." She stepped back and petted them affectionately.
Suddenly Inuyasha twitched and slapped himself in the neck, then reached out and swiped at the air. The move he made...Taisho did that very same move quite often. She burst out laughing. "Myoga is here, huh? That move is very familiar, Inuyasha...your father did it all the time." She heard Sesshomaru chuckle behind her.
Inuyasha looked over at her and smiled. "Guess some things never change, Ruma. This damn parasite is always out to bleed me..." he opened his palm and addressed said parasite. "What's up, Myoga? You dig up anything on that dragon?" Inuyasha walked over closer to her as the flea popped and shook himself.
"Yes, Lord Inuyasha...and none of it is good news I'm afraid." Myoga's eyes landed on Karuma, Sesshomaru had stepped closer again, his hands on her shoulders, she reached up to hold both his hands under hers, his head leaning down, watching her every move with an almost soft look. He had seen the interest the couple had in each other, but, that was more than mere interest on Lord Sesshomaru's face...then Myoga spied the feather flying in Sesshomaru's hair as it caught a breeze...It is true! ...Oh!..the master would be overjoyed!..a tear formed in his eye...I wish he were here to witness this...if anything, love has made her more beautiful, her appearance has changed, and something else is definitely different about her...I cannot feel her energy. Odd...but, damn, they make a gorgeous couple.
Karuma smiled down at Myoga. By the reaction of the flea, he was happy to see them together. "Hello, old friend. Do I have something on my face?"
"Yes...Lady Karuma. A definite change...you look beautiful...and your smile is genuine. Love looks good on you, my dear. I am happy for the two of you...the master would be happy as well."
Sesshomaru bent more and whispered in her ear. "Yes sweetheart, love certainly does look beautiful on you. Father would've been proud to call you daughter, I have no doubt...not to mention his grandchildren...he would've wanted to have a hand in training them as well...and I would've argued with him over his soft methods when our pups needed serious training. That demon was far too kind hearted for how powerful he was...it reminds me of you, princess." Oh, Sesshomaru...she looked up at him as a tear rolled down her cheek. His mouth turned up at one corner as his eyes met hers.
"Don't cry, Karuma...you are going to give yourself away to everyone, my soft hearted little elf." Dammit...another tear escaped her eye as a lump formed in her throat. He is always doing this to me...I can almost picture him arguing with Taisho about how to train our pups...it seemed whenever they were together in the past that they were always arguing, both of them being too stubborn to comprehend the other's point of view...so, them arguing over training methods was certainly easy to picture... and, I remind him of his father?...the way Taisho took me in, under his wing...he was almost a father to me. I wanted to be like him, respected him and his humble kindness...everything he did when he did not have to...had no reason to...I was nothing to him, but, he became everything to me.
"Thank you, Sesshomaru." She whispered, ignoring everyone around her, she turned around to face him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "To be told that I am anything like Taisho is one of the best compliments I could ever receive. It is one of the ways I try to keep his memory alive...I will never forget all that he taught me, and I use those lessons every single day. So, thank you...from the bottom of my heart." She stood on tip toe, pulling herself up him until her feet left the ground...with everyone watching, she bracketed his hips with her legs...literally climbing up him. She brought her lips a mere breath away from his and smiled, the look on his face was comical. "I love you, demon...the world around me means nothing without you in it."
"Karuma..." he whispered softly...a catch in his voice. He bridged the distance between them, kissing her sweetly as his arms came around her and squeezed her tightly.
"Go for it, princess! Show that demon who wears the crown!" Koga cheered, goading her on as she attacked him, deepening the kiss. She chuckled in the back of her throat...The wolf wants a show? No problem...I need no excuse...
She opened her wings and wrapped them tightly around him. Bringing her hands to the back of his head, her fingers tangled in his hair, anchoring in place and pulling his lips closer to hers. Opening her mouth, she licked across his lips. A growl rumbled deep in his chest as his mouth opened for her. Her tongue invaded his mouth and all three wolves hooted and hollered, clapping their hands and laughing. She couldn't hold it back anymore as she started laughing along with them, breaking off the kiss, smiling wide at him in a fanged tooth grin.
"Enjoying yourself, sweetheart? Because if you do not stop soon, I will be carrying you out of here...to the chorus of the wolves' laughter...and no one will be seeing us until tomorrow morning...maybe not even then, if I have my way." Mmm...the look in his golden eyes...like he wants to devour me... "Get off me, woman, before I make good on my threat. I find myself starving, and you look like an incredibly tasty morsel indeed." Mmm...damn.
Right...mental slap...Myoga is here for a reason. Wrapping her arms around his neck again, she opened her wings and curled them out around her. Slowly, she unlocked her legs and smiled at him again. Giving a swing of her legs out by his left side to gain momentum and then swinging back again, she flipped backwards off him into the air and landed with a flourish, throwing her arms in the air, lightly tapping on her toes, her wings still curled around her. She swung around to look back at him with a seductive grin, a surprised look on his face. The wolves let out a chorus of laughter and more noise as they clapped for her again...she struck a pose and took a bow to them, which caused them to laugh more.
Koga hollered out, laughing. "Hey, Sesshomaru! You're definitely gonna have your hands full with that one! Hope you have the strength to handle her, my friend. The way you two are going, she's gonna ride you into an early grave!" All three wolves laughed again.
Sesshomaru smiled at the wolf, then responded. "Then, at least, I would go down smiling wolf...quite willingly, in fact." He watched as Karuma's cheeks turned red, with a shit eating grin on his face. Koga was quiet a few moments, taking in what Sesshomaru had just said...then he burst out laughing once again.
"The mighty Lord of the West...felled by a half demon. Tragic ain't it?...how the mighty fall?"
"To their knees and begging for more, Koga. This wench of mine holds a unique ability over me." Sesshomaru's eyes landed on hers...a serious look in them despite the joking.
"Yeah...and what's that?" Koga asked, liking Sesshomaru more and more.
"The power to heal my battered soul, know all my wounds...even if I wasn't aware of the injury to begin with...and bring me to a future that I didn't even know I wanted until I found her." Evil demon...tears ran down her cheeks again...then he caught her off guard once more as he stepped toward her and wrapped her in his arms again...then he addressed Koga once more.
"After this business with the dragon wolf, and all is quiet again...I plan on marrying this wench...and I would like for you to be in attendance...along with the pack. It will be a party to remember, I can assure you of that."
"Damn...when a Lord invites you to his wedding, one would be quite dense to refuse. Congratulations you two."
"Thank you, Koga, but do not come because I am a Lord and ally, I don't want you to feel obligated...come because I want you there, wolf. As my friend and honored guest. Karuma wants to be your friend as well. She said I should try to reach out to you...I trust her judgment on these matters..." Sesshomaru smirked over at Koga. "This is me reaching out."
Koga's smile got wider and wider as Sesshomaru spoke. Well, I'll be damned...that was unexpected. His friend!?...I already feel like I'm close friends with Karuma...almost like I've known her forever...but Sesshomaru!? Heh...kinda intimidating...and intriguing. Well...okay, let's do this...my friend...heh.
"Well now I do feel obligated..." Koga chuckled. "As a friend. I would be happy to come." Sesshomaru nodded, giving Koga another smile. That smile seems to come a lot easier to his face now...
"Karuma..." Inuyasha spoke softly from behind her. She turned to look at him with a smile of her own.
   "Yes, love?"
He flicked Myoga through the air. "Why meee!?" Stepping closer, he looked up at Sesshomaru. "Can I hug her, brother? Not everyday I hear news like this." Sesshomaru nodded and stepped back. Inuyasha went to him first and held out his hand to his brother. Sesshomaru smiled as they clasped each other's wrist...but Inuyasha squeezed harder, digging his claws in.
"You hurt her and I will kill you, Sesshomaru...and know that you will never be good enough for her, no matter how hard you try. But for some damn reason, she loves you...continue trying to prove to her, every damn day, that you deserve it, and we will have no further problems, brother...Oh, and congratulations."
Sesshomaru nodded to his brother. "Everyday, Inuyasha...I've often asked myself what I have done to deserve her, and have sworn my fealty to her, brother...all that I am is for her."
Wow! That's a big deal for a Lord, especially Sesshomaru, Inuyasha thought and loosened his grip on his brother's wrist. "Still not good enough for her...but that's a start." Inuyasha released his wrist then turned to her, and was surprised to see her fangs and angry look.
Dammit, that was sweet...but Inuyasha had been threatening Sesshomaru. Karuma had a strong urge to rise to Sesshomaru's defense when one of Inuyasha's claws punctured his wrist and his blood scent hit her. Moving swift and surprising both brothers...she stepped around Inuyasha and went to Sesshomaru, grabbing his wrist gently, she licked his wound away.
"Inuyasha, a word of advice...My instincts right now and forever more are to protect my future husband and mate. They are incredibly hard to control...refrain from bloodshed. I am afraid what my reaction might be...especially now. Blood triggers my demon boy...especially his." My demon loves his blood. Just licking his wound has my hackles rising...the coppery taste just hinting at the back of my tongue...and I crave more...
She must've looked intimidating as she turned back to Inuyasha, because he took an involuntary step back. His hands went in the air, palm side out as he stepped closer to her again. "Peace, Ruma...it wasn't intentional, and I apologize. It won't happen again, sister."
"See that it doesn't, boy...I don't wanna hurt you, Inuyasha. It would rip me to pieces."
"So, can I hug you now, sister?" She nodded to him with a smile, swallowing her cravings down as his arms came around her. His scent calmed her...laying her head on his shoulder, she embraced him back and breathed him in deep...my hero.
"I am happy for you, Ruma...you deserve this and so much more. I hope your every dream finally comes true...I saw you crying so many times when you tried to hide it. I was just a kid and never understood why...but I wished I could at least ease your sadness...so I started sleeping beside you so you wouldn't be alone at night in the dark, and spending all my time with you during the daylight hours, opening up to you like no one else ...but it turned out that you helped ease my own sadness over losing my mother...by becoming my new one. All I can say is it's about damn time that all that good karma you've built up over the centuries finally comes back around...Mother." Oh that did it...the tears poured down her cheeks again as she sobbed into his shoulder. Squeezing him tighter, she opened her wings and wrapped them around the pup as well...her tears wetting his kimono.
"Shhh...it's okay..." he started rubbing her back gently under her wings and humming to her softly. God...I love him.
Myoga had been sitting silently, witnessing everything as it unfolded. But, hearing every word Lord Inuyasha had said, and then humming to Karuma as he hugged her...which was a definite surprise...made him cry as he completely agreed with Inuyasha...it's about damn time... Heh...Sesshomaru wants to marry her too, along with being her mate?! Oh master...I wish you could see this...wait a minute...did Koga call her princess!?
Getting my emotions under control is becoming more and more difficult...and that's not good. We have to get moving...rein it in, Karuma...she focused on his humming, closing her eyes and breathing deeply...oh, his voice...her tears slowly receded as she listened to him.
He stopped humming and spoke softly to her again. "You okay now, Ruma? We should probably talk to Myoga and get going."
"Right...yes, I'm okay..." she straightened, leaning up to look at him. "Thank you, Inuyasha. You just made me incredibly happy, puppy." She leaned in and kissed his cheek, reaching up and petting the top of his head between his ears...the same way she used to when he was a pup and couldn't sleep, or had had a nightmare. He smiled softly at her, reaching out and wiping her wet cheeks with his sleeve.
"Good. Like I said, you deserve to be happy." Dammit....don't start crying again Karuma...she gave him a gentle squeeze, then released him. As she stepped back away from Inuyasha, not realizing he was behind her, she stepped back into Sesshomaru's embrace, his arms wrapping around her shoulders from behind as her wings closed, he leaned down into her and nuzzled her ear. Her eyes rolled closed as she leaned back into him.
"Your instinct to protect me is an incredible turn on, woman. You looked like an avenging goddess..." he smirked into her hair. "Ready to rip Inuyasha to pieces over a tiny drop of blood. I had no idea you felt this way, Karuma. I feel the same, princess...this urge to protect and possess you is almost overwhelming at times...so much so that it matters not who triggers it...I want to rip them to shreds. So, have a care who you get close to, half demon...if you want them to live, that is..." why does his words turn me on!? Geez...I got it bad...but, heaven help me...I want him to possess me...dominate me...oh, and protect me too...heh, heh.
She turned her face toward him, her desire showing in her eyes...she heard him take a deep, shaky breath. "You had better stop now, baby...because I want you to possess me, right now...dominate me...rough and hard..." she bit her lip with her fang... "make me scream your name...dammit, I want you, demon."
"Karuma...I wish I could smell you, sweetheart...but, then I might lose control again...turn savage on you..." his lips came down on her neck, kissing and nipping her lightly. "Tonight, my love...as of now, we still have things to do." I know dammit.
"Alright, Myoga...where are you at?" Inuyasha spoke up, reminding her, yet again, that they were not alone.
"Right here, Lord Inuyasha." The flea answered from over near the fire, sniffling. Aww...is the flea crying? She stood up straighter and grabbed Sesshomaru's hand, pulling him toward the fire and Myoga. As she got closer she could see the flea watching her closely with tears running down his face.
Smiling in his direction, she asked. "Are you okay, Myoga?..." she chuckled. "Those tears are bigger than you, my friend."
"Just happy for you, Lady Karuma, that's all..." he sniffled again. "I'm curious though, why did Koga call you princess?" That's right! I haven't seen Myoga in a long while. I actually know something before the flea! Oh, this is precious...as it never happens.
"What!? Haven't you heard yet!?...my father, Amerilis, was the next in line to the thrown...crowned prince of the high elves. He broke major taboos and traditions, something pounded into the elves' heads since birth and never changed for untold millennia, just to create that which you see before you...the one and only half demon, half elf, princess Karuma." She gave him a bow, throwing her hand out to the side in a flourish.
If Myoga had a normal mouth, it would've hit the ground. "Only the royals can open the door." He spit out. What!? Door?
"What are you talking about, Myoga?" She asked, sitting in front of him. Sesshomaru wrapped around her and squeezed. Inuyasha sat beside them.
"The reason why the master was trying to discover your lineage...princess. You can still claim your birthright, just by opening the door...I don't know how to find this door, or what it looks like...again, only the royals can tell. And what's behind it is more of a mystery...a golden realm of plenty, that's all I know. The hideaway of the high elves, I'm assuming...there was an uprising among them when they went underground...not all wanted to leave earth realm forever. If you decide to pursue the doorway, you may have allies on the other side."
Only royals can open the door...huh, thought that door was closed forever...and do I even care!? "You alright, sweetheart?" Sesshomaru asked quietly, giving her a gentle squeeze.
"I honestly don't know. That's a lot to take in when I have so much on my plate already. One thing at a time. What can you tell us about that dragon, Myoga?"
"So, I'm assuming you know who he is, but did you know Ryokomo is the one who ripped open the portal to bring you back to this time period? I don't know how he ultimately achieved this, ripping a hole through time and space..." he looked at Sesshomaru. "But I now have a theory, seeing the two of you together. It is said that love transcends time, perhaps that's how he made the connection. Karuma...how long have you had feelings for Lord Sesshomaru?" Her face turned red and she looked away quickly.
"Too long...long enough so a dragon could pursue me through time and space itself. My own heart gave me away like I knew it eventually would. That dragon though...he did me a favor. He literally opened the portal to my dreams. It's a damned shame that I have to slaughter him."
"Karuma...in order for that beast to open a portal, his strength has to be incredibly massive. Now the eldest and only remaining of his kind...and powerful enough to walk the underworld. He could chew the Tessaiga's and Bakusaiga's powers up and spit them out. His hide sparkles...thick as the adamant it resembles. His mouth emits a blast straight out of the underworld that rots flesh on contact and leaves a trail of death in it's wake...death breath they call it. His tail whips like a bolt of lightning and cracks like thunder...and he has speed to match. And ultimately he blames you and Lord Inuyasha for the death of his son. Killing Lord Sesshomaru is just a perk...all the more to hurt you I assume, plus he is the master's first born son and heir. He had his heir taken, now he wants the master's. The rage he feels toward you three only makes him stronger and more aggressively determined. And I'm told he has amassed a small army within the temple. I know not how many as I haven't traveled there. I know you have no choice but to face him...no matter how much I wish it were otherwise. Please be careful...all three of you."
Damn. Her heart rate picked up speed as she started to shake. I hate fucking dragons. Sesshomaru felt her trembling...he dipped his head down to her ear and nuzzled her again. "Shh...it's alright, Karuma. I'm here, princess. You do not face this foe alone, my love...I will protect you." She let out her pent up breath as she leaned into him, sighing. What would I do without him? He soothes my frayed nerves like none other. She turned her face up to him.
"I love you, Sesshomaru...and thank you. I don't know what I would do without you, baby."
"You okay, Ruma?"
Nervous as hell, boy. Hmm...Myoga...she smiled and brought up a few spheres. What better way to calm herself? And, she could show the flea her plan at the same time. "Sing with me, my loves. Please?..you have no idea how much it calms me." Both of them nodded their heads without hesitation now, ready and willing to help her. Piano, violin, and flute filled the air around them. Myoga sat wide-eyed as he looked around for the sound.
"Karuma? What in the hell is this?" The flea asked, a bit intimidated.
"Elvish magic, flea. The Serenade...just keep quiet and listen." She smiled at Myoga, then closing her eyes, she started swaying and humming along with the music...her boys a step behind.
"What!?" She heard Myoga exclaim. It tickled her. The wolves crept up to the other side of the fire and sat around it. Then...they started humming too...oh, god...yes! "What!!!???" Myoga exclaimed once again. Oh, you just wait, Myoga...if you last that long, that is...
She opened her mouth, her voice ringing out with the music...Sesshomaru a step behind, followed by Inuyasha and the wolves. Peace washed over her...her blue eyes shining brightly as she brought all their voices together and wove them into her song. She snuggled in closer to Sesshomaru...leaning on his strength, keeping a smooth pace with the flowing tune. It sounded so much better than before...and seemed easier to control. So damned cool...demons singing...still gets me square in the chest.
"Damn..." she heard Myoga whisper. Tears flowing down his cheeks again. The master had hinted at Karuma's power...but, he wasn't expecting this. And, not only that...but, she got demons to sing with her!? He felt sleepy and couldn't think straight. There was definitely something woven into this spell...he nodded sleepily...Karuma had called it the Serenade. Amazing...his eyes slowly closed.
Karuma saw the flea pass out, but didn't want to stop yet. It felt sooo good...powerful. She could go on forever. Tears formed in her own eyes, triggered by the strong emotions she felt as she poured herself into the song...feeling the connection to them all so acutely...and demons were always a bundle of pent up energy and emotion...it was almost overwhelming, if not for Sesshomaru. His calm integrated into her through the Serenade and brought her the balance she needed to hold the delicate spell together...the peace she needed. He was the cause of her peaceful serenity. It felt almost like being high...a feeling closely resembling the Feedback rush.
Ok...gotta bring the Serenade to a stop. We got to put some miles behind us, considering it's getting close on to noon. Slowly she dropped her singing back to a hum...the demons following her lead. The music faded out slowly as her humming drew to a close...the demons managing somehow to stop humming at the exact same time she did. It left her wanting so much more. So damned cool...
"Damn, princess...that was amazing..." Koga spoke up, the calm evident on his face. "Your eyes glow with the magic. When this damned dragon is dead, I wish to learn more about your Serenade. If you are willing to teach me."
"Absolutely, Koga. I am glad you have taken such an interest in my Serenade. You are astounding...considering you have no elven blood. I think the wolves could harness the power of the Serenade even without me...if you could find a way to produce the music. You wolves have really impressed me." Koga's cheeks turned pink.
"Thank you, princess...that means a lot coming from you." She nodded to him, smiling...her eyes slowly fading back to normal.
"We should probably get moving, boys...I'll grab Myoga and wait for him to wake."
Sesshomaru spoke in her ear again. "No armor, princess. I wish to feel you." She swallowed... yes, I wish to feel you as well, my love.
"No armor...I wish the clothes could go as well, baby." She leaned back and spoke quietly to him...making him inhale sharply.
"Dammit woman, keep it up and it's going to be a long damn day, princess."
She chuckled. "I know...I'll stop. Let's get going, my love." He nodded, holding out his hand as Inuyasha kicked dirt on the fire. She gently picked up Myoga, looking up for Ah-Un...oh shit...they were sleeping not far away...having heard the Serenade as well. Dammit.
Inuyasha saw where her eyes traveled. "I got it." He made his way to the water flask and filled it once again. Bringing it to Ah-Un, he poured some water on both heads then jumped back. They raised their heads and shook off the water, glaring at Inuyasha. "What!? It ain't my fault Karuma's spell knocked you out. Come on, it's time to get going."
Ah-Un's heads both nodded as they stood slowly, shaking off the sleep, they made their way to her. "Sorry, boys...that spell is damned powerful. We will have to find a way to keep you awake when we use the Serenade against that dragon...somehow. Here boys, I'm gonna put Myoga, nice and safe, in your mane, Ah." She placed the flea in Ah's thick mane on top of his head, then put her armor around his neck. Sesshomaru did the same with his on Un. He climbed on Ah-Un's back, then held his hand out to her. When she took his hand, he pulled her into his lap, cradling her sideways again. Oh, he felt sooo damned good.
"Ready, sweetheart?" He asked gently.
She nodded, the rest standing by and ready for her to get moving. "Okay, let's go, boys." She petted Ah-Un's scales, and they were on their way.
