"Beatrice, samahan mo muna ang kapatid mo."

Mom kept on saying that I should be with my sister all the time... like, she's already 15 years old? Hindi ba niya kayang pumunta sa CR mag-isa?

"Ate..." Calynn, my sister smiled sweetly at me. She's offering her hand.

I fought the urge to roll my eyes. I'm just 17, two years lang naman ang pagitan namin pero bakit ang isip-bata pa rin niya?

I held her hand. "Bilisan mo lang, ah."

We both walked towards the restroom, bibili kami ngayon ng gamit dahil first day of classes na bukas. It was my grade 11 in senior high school. I'm sure marami akong bagong makikilala pero wala naman akong pakialam.

"Done na po." Calynn energetically said when she went outside the cubicle. Tumango na lang ako at lumakad na.

"Ouch!" Napalingon ako sa likuran ko nang marinig ang boses ng kapatid ko. Nakahawak na siya ngayon sa braso niya dahil may lalaking nakabangga sa kaniya.

"Hindi ka man lang magso-sorry?" I asked the man who's just in my age.

"I have to go, Miss." nagmamadaling sabi niya bago tumakbo.

Napailing ako at hinawakan na lang ang kamay ng kapatid ko. "Halika na, mag-iingat ka kasi sa susunod."

"It's not my fault, Ate. Why are you blaming me?" she said like she's about to cry.

Oh, please.

"Ayan na pala kayo. Let's go. You want new shoes, Calynn?" Dad smiled at Calynn.

Calynn, on the other hand, started running towards my father.

They were just busy picking shoes for Calynn, ako naman ay okay na ako sa nakuha ko kanina pa. I really don't get that kid. Black shoes lang pero hindi makapili.

That's why we never really get along... aside from me, being a quiet person, she's just too... maarte.

I don't hate her, nor my parents. I just can't give love to other people because I know, they'll just leave me in the end... because that's what people do.

"Beatrice, okay ka na sa mga gamit mo?" Mom smiled at me.

I nodded. "I want to go home."

"But I want to eat first, Ate. I want carbonara." Calynn looked at Dad. "Daddy, I want carbonara, please." she said in a small voice.

I sighed, trying to get more patience with this kid.

"Pwede ba muna tayong kumain, anak?" Mom asked me.

I nodded. What more can I do? "Okay po."

Calynn jumped out of excitement. "Yehey! Carbonara."

Dad chuckled. Mukhang aliw na aliw sa kapatid ko. "Ang cute mo talaga. Let's pay for that first so we could eat carbonara? You want that, huh?"

Napangiti nang malaki ang kapatid ko. "Yes po!"

I shook my head. I really know who's the favorite daughter.

It was my 11th grade here in Diamond International School. I quickly went to my room because I hate being late. I believed that it's better to be early than to be late. Ayaw ko ng may naghihintay sa akin.

"Hello." A woman beside me greeted me when I sat down in one of the chairs in our room.

I smiled a bit to her. I don't like talking, mas gusto ko pang tahimik lang ako at mag-isa.
