"Nasaan na 'yung ring mo?"
Marco and I were having lunch here in the cafeteria. We barely saw each other now because we're both really busy. Ugh! Third-year things!
Marco and I never really talked about what happened last week. I just put my trust to what Marco said⎯that nothing can break us. I trust Marco enough for my heart to have peace... kahit na gano'n ang nangyari no'ng lunch na 'yon.
"Here." He smiled, showing me the ring⎯iyong ring namin sa marriage booth.
I smiled. "Lagi mo palang suot."
"Of course."
"Me, too." I showed him my necklace. It was a gold little cross with diamonds. I made our ring as a pendant, too kaya parang nakapaloob 'yung cross sa mismong ring. Good thing the fake ring was gold, too, so they complement each other.
"Ganda." He smiled.
"But this one's my favorite." I raised my hand with the knot ring that he gave.
"Mapapalitan ko rin 'yan ng engagement ring."
I chuckled. "I'll wait for that."
Days passed briefly and although we're both busy, we managed to made time for our anniversary. Ipapakilala ko na nga dapat si Marco no'ng birthday ko but Mom and Dad were very busy so I just shrugged it off. Maybe graduation would be the most definite time.
"Parang ayaw ko na, Marco!" sigaw ko.
"No! You asked for this!" Marco chuckled. "We'll be fine. I'll be right here."
Oh, goodness! I didn't know Marco would take my words seriously. He asked me what is the one thing I really wanted to do in this lifetime and I said⎯skydiving... and now we're already here!
"One..." Marco counted. "Two..."
I closed my eyes and waited for three but my instructor already jumped so I screamed so loud. Oh, my God! I saw from afar that Marco already fell.
"Oh, my goodness!" I clutched my hand on chest when we finally fell on the ground. Marco landed just a few meters from me. Kaagad siyang tumayo. His instructor removed all his gears before he ran towards me.
We were both laughing as he helped me stand up. Kaagad akong yumakap sa kaniya at nagtatalon.
"That was so thrilling! Thank you, Marco!" I said while jumping a little.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was so fun!"
We were both speechless. This is one of the highlights in my life. I really tried not to closed my eyes earlier but I got scared so I was just opening my eyes from time to time. The view was so heavenly and it was really exhilarating.
"I had so much fun." I said to Marco while we're having a romantic dinner in one of the restaurants near where we skydive.
"Everything is always fun as long as I'm with you."
"Hmm. Bolero!" I rolled my eyes before taking a bite of my burger.
Marco suddenly got my hand. "Happy third anniversary, love."
I tilted my head and smiled. "Happy third anniversary, love." I greeted back.
***
"Okay, okay. I'm almost done."
