Albedo

Mondstadt - Albedo's house

After chatting for quite a while with Kaeya on various topics, it was time to lead him to my laboratory. He followed me down the hallway, until we reached the stairs leading to the basement. I took the key from my pocket and opened the door.

- Albedo: "Sorry if everything is upside down in some sections, I didn't have much time to clean it up". I said referring to the sections where I had various test tubes and flasks with liquids inside and the section where I had books, documents and notes of the "experiment".

- Kaeya: "Don't worry, it's not a problem. Tell me, how are we going to start?" He said admiring the lab.

I tapped a stretcher that I unfolded and put a blanket on it, indicating that he should sit right there.

- Albedo: "Right here, make yourself comfortable". I said in a serious tone as he approached me.

I had to admit that it was a bit cold down there, so I didn't hesitate to go to the fire that was there to light it so it wouldn't be so cold.

Kaeya sat on that stretcher and admired the place while I was busy with the fire.

When I finished, I went to the shelves and drawers near my desk and pulled out various instruments I might need and quickly organized them.

I already knew that Kaeya would be nervous about my strange appearance on that street, and on top of that at this late hour of the night. I already knew that as soon as he entered my house, he would start inspecting everything, so I took care to hide anything that might create suspicion in the rooms before following his meeting with Aether.

I approached him with a stethoscope and indicated that he should show me his chest so I could hear clearly. He relented and quickly removed his upper clothing. I took my time and after a short while, I removed that instrument from him.

I took out my notebook to write down results and did several psychological tests on him, to see how he would react, think and act in certain situations. Not excepting the physical tests I did on him as well, such as weight bearing, balance, strength... and so on. I took advantage of the moment when I was doing physical tests to take out some liquids that were not harmful to ingest in some flasks, but that had different flavors, some stronger than others.

- Albedo: "Okay, I'll explain quickly so you understand what these liquids are for". I said leaning my hands on the table that I left in front of him with everything so he could observe it.

- Albedo: "You're going to try different liquids from less to more intense in taste and more difficult to drink for the average person. They are not harmful, I did a follow-up and it turned out not to have the effect that you are thinking of. Back on topic, all the flasks have the same amount of liquid and are different colors because of their components. Don't force yourself to keep going when you see you can't take it, just let me know when you start to feel like you can't take it anymore and that's it". I said pointing to the ten flasks and writing down in my notebook each one of them with different numbers as a name.

- Kaeya: "Is it totally necessary to do that? As I told you before, I can't even have one more drop of drink, seriously". He said looking at me shaking his head from side to side denying the possibility of drinking from it.

- Albedo: "You don't need to drink a large amount, drink whatever you want, but make it the same amount as at the beginning, if possible. You can take a small sip too, it is not necessary to drink as if you were drinking water". I said trying to convince him to take at least the first flask to drink already and not take too long.

- Kaeya: "Okay, okay, I'll do it. But I will do like you said, one sip for each of one, no more". He was convinced of what he was saying.

I nodded my head and waited for him to start. He looked at the first flask, picked it up and took a sip. Seeing that I was right, he looked at me and looked back at the flasks. He continued drinking until he reached the eighth flask, where he gave up and gestured to me that he could not continue. I wrote down the number of the flask and went to get a glass of water so he could drink something lighter than what he had just drunk.

We continued with a light chat about his experience with what he has done so far and the subject of his relationships with other people came up. After a few minutes, he got to what I most wanted to hear him talk about, Aether.

- Albedo: "Oh, now that you mentioned Aether... Tell me, what relationship do you two have with each other, you seem very close". I said with a hidden look in a way that seemed to show an interest in his relationships and not just him. I wanted to know everything to see what he was up to with the hangout a few hours ago and how he really felt about Aether.

- Kaeya: "Ah, Aether... Yes, he is a very interesting and admirable guy, especially for his feats and personality. I've been feeling in a unique way around him lately, and I want to find some way to tell him that". He said as he looked at his now intertwined hands, as he played with his thumbs, twirling around as if they were chasing each other. Meanwhile, I was preparing a syringe with a liquid that will help me finish my "experiment" behind Kaeya's back.

- Albedo: "Mhm, tell me more, don't be shy, you can trust me." I said, already noticing how my sanity again decreased rapidly and I expected quick answers from him.

I approached him with the syringe in hand and watched him look away to the other side. I wanted a quick answer, so I approached him as quickly as possible so he could see that I was still interested in this topic of conversation. I snapped my fingers to get him to look at me, and as soon as he did, I made a sign for him to extend his arm so I could use the syringe.

- Albedo: "Keep talking, I just have to do this one last test, it doesn't alter your voice". I said as I took his arm and looked at where I was going to use the syringe.

- Kaeya: "I love Aether. It's not something I can deny, really. In fact, I think I'll tell him in two days. I've been denying it for a long time, but now I see that everything I felt was true and I want to have a relationship with him". He said very sincerely. Hearing those sincere words of love coming out of his mouth and moreover that they are from the person I loved, led me to commit on impulse what I was going to do little by little. Insert that deadly liquid into him mixed with a sedative to put Kaeya to sleep and end it for once and for all.

- Albedo: "I understand, I hope you do well getting it and establishing a relationship with Aether.... In another life". I said, opening my eyes wider to observe his panicked state when he realized.

Kaeya tried to force his way out against his fate, but it was too late... He soon fell backwards unconscious since he couldn't keep his strength and already saw his inevitable death coming. In the blink of an eye, he had already stopped moving and a few seconds later, he stopped breathing.

I could not believe what I had done, I had committed a crime of murder and there was no turning back. Now the only thing left for me to do was to try to make sure there were no witnesses by looking for some way to hide it, and continue with everything as if nothing had happened.
