He looked up when he heard the door open. You walked in; they were alone. Maybe it was the right time to clear things up. He would let you be free and be with someone worthy of you.
"Steve, don't even think about it; I know exactly what you're thinking," you replied as you sat down in your desk chair. Steve had forgotten that your power was to read minds, so you knew exactly what he was thinking.
"But, Y/N, it's just that I don't deserve you..."
"I don't care what happened in the past or your past relationships; I know who you are; believe me, you're my soulmate. I may not be able to make you forget the past or erase the wounds caused, but I believe I can help you heal. You are the only person who is worthy of me," you said, and then you kissed him.
"Do you want to go out to dinner?" Steve asked you, and you smiled to see that his thoughts had changed.
