Steve took the bouquet that he had bought for you with a little more force; he cleared his throat a little; and he hoped they still did that kind of thing in this day and age. He felt nervous; he was standing there, outside Stark Industries; he thought it was a good idea to go visit you at your work; he would ask you for a date right there; if you couldn't make it that afternoon, he still had a plan, and they would go out another day you had free.

Steve pursed his lips a little when he saw you talking to someone, but he relaxed when he noticed it was a coworker.

"Steve, what are you doing here?" you asked when you saw him.

"I..." Steve wanted to mentally stick; he always got nervous in front of you. "This is for you..." He couldn't even formulate a sentence the right way.

You smiled and took the bouquet just as Tony appeared.

"Rogers, I hope you're not distracting Y/N from her work," Tony said.

"We were actually going to go to lunch," you said, taking Steve's arm.

"But... "

"It's time for my lunch; I can do whatever I want, Tony, so shut up, and I'll also tell Steve about working together," you continued while you gave Steve a little tug to walk.

And so, they left Stark Industries; things didn't go as Steve had planned, but much, much better.
