Wednesday had sent Thing to give Tyler the number he needed to call her with. It seemed he had gotten the message when a video call between the two had started. He wasn't entirely facing the camera and instead focused on something in the background as he spoke. "Uh... hi."

"That's Thing," She replied, picking up on the fact that he was confused by the living hand.

"Is he, like, your pet?" A thud was heard in the background as Thing responded to his comment.

"He's sensitive and definitely not a pet," I added to the conversation from where I laid on my bed.

"Look, I know Nevermore is ground-zero for all things weird, but this is next level. So, what happened to not wanting to be a slave to technology." I felt offended about his comments toward Thing. After all, he couldn't help the fact that he was merely a hand, as much as he was a great person to be around.

"Desperate times. Are you still willing to help me escape?" I knew how painful it was for my twin to have to use this technology to contact Tyler. She didn't really know how it worked and still did not want to be 'a slave to technology,' as the boy had put it.

"After what happened today, I figured they'd have you in solitary." Weems had only given Wednesday a stern talk and asked me to be more useful in preventing her escapes, and in giving better information to her whereabouts.

"There's the Harvest Festival this weekend. Attendance is mandatory. I'm going to use it as a cover. If you drive me to the station, I can make it worth your while." As much as I did want to go to the Harvest Festival and possibly play some carnival games with Xavier, who I had not seen in a while, I had to watch out for my sister. I wasn't entirely sure whether to help her and leave with her or prevent her escape and keep her at Nevermore. Either way, Wednesday would most likely get what she wanted.

"And no charge. Consider it a freebie." I furrowed my eyebrows at the statement, unsure as to why he would say that. Pondering it for a moment, I figured he was growing somewhat close to my twin.

"Why?" She questioned.

"'Cause I wish I was going with you. At least one of us will get out of this hellhole town."

Wednesday hung up the call and closed the laptop, placing it back on Enid's bed. She immediately stalked over to me as I sat up. "You will not alert Principal Weems, or anyone else to my evening plans. And you won't try to stop Tyler from taking me or tell anyone where I'm going. Am I clear?" She stared at me with her 'death glare' and expected me to back down.

I nodded slightly, still not entirely sure on what my plan was. I didn't really trust Tyler and I didn't want Wednesday to leave alone, but I also wanted to stay with Xavier. "We will see when the time comes." I turned away from her and back to my book, letting her know I was done with the conversation.

We walked into the Harvest Festival, next to Enid the whole time. "Are you sure you can trust that nornie?" she asked, while her gazze followed Tyler and his father, the sheriff. They seemed to be arguing about something, she didn't particularly have an interest in what is was.

"I trust that I can handle myself," My twin responded, her eyes locked on the boy.

"Well, good luck and safe travels." The werewolf reached for a hug to which Wednesday refused. "Still not a hugger, got it." I allowed her to hug me, though I did not feel inclined to leave. Principal Weems had been staring at my twin, probably ensuring she didn't escape. I koped she would catch her rather than me having to sabotage her atempts.

Enid wandered off to join Yoko and their friend group while Wednesday and I made our way to the dart stand to spend some time there. I was not as great at throwing darts and kept missing, but my twin had been hitting all of her shots. She had always had amazing aim with anything that required throwing or shooting. "Jeez, you get any better at this, you'll be taking home a whole pack," a familiar voice commented on her throwing skills. I turned around with a smile as Xavier approached us. "You do not seem to be having the same luck."
