We briskly left the library after not reaching very many answers. I automatically felt better after leaving the presence of Mrs. Thornhill and turned to see Wednesday's lips pursed in thought as we walked. "We need to investigate Xavier's dorm room."

I paused where we were in the hallway and grabbed onto her arm. "What? Are you crazy? No, I won't go into his private room." I didn't want to be snooping around his stuff and wanted to respect his privacy.

"I will be doing it with, or without, your help. Xavier was Rowan's roommate and maybe there's something inside of there that could help us find what we need. Rowan might have something in their room and you know Xavier better than I do."

I sighed, giving into my sister's notions. She made a point, we weren't getting anywhere with finding answers about Rowan and his previous dorm room held the most possibility. I also figured that I could keep an eye on her that way to avoid looking through Xavier's things. "Fine, but we don't touch anything of Xavier's. His personal stuff doesn't need to be looked through by us."

My twin and I quickly came up with a plan to enter the room when classes were finished and Xavier was least likely to be in his room. We didn't want teachers to be suspicious of us skipping class and I preferred not to run into Xavier while stalking around his room.

We snuck into the room shortly after he left to go to the bathroom. Wednesday peered into his sketchbook which I quickly reprimanded her for. She had seen something but wouldn't detail what it was. "The purple book has got to be around here somewhere. Start investigating."

I used a UV light to shine on top of the bed that was Rowan's and found nothing, switching to looking underneath. "Wednesday, I found something." We opened up the compartment to find a purple mask as seen in masquerade balls.

"Rowan's full of surprises," she muttered before a knocking could be heard from the door. We quickly ducked underneath the bed with Thing and waited silently. Xavier exited the bathroom and opened the door to reveal Bianca waiting on the other side.

"You're not supposed to be up here," Xavier tensely said. I could tell he didn't really want her there and tried to keep my ears away from their conversation with no luck.

"Good to see you too." Bianca pushed past Xavier into his room. She acted with full authority as if she were the Queen and he was a loyal subject.

He scoffed and crossed his arms. "How'd you get past the Housemaster? Use your siren powers?" I could sense the distrust in his voice, and wouldn't put it past Bianca to cheat her way in.

An offended look passed across the Siren's face. "Not while wearing this." She gestured to the golden locket around her neck, I had always wondered what it's importance was. "Would it kill you not to think the worst of me for once?"

Xavier sighed and uncrossed his arms, hanging them loosely at his sides. "What do you want Bianca?"

"To see how you're doing. I'm sorry about Rowan. I know you guys used to be close." She did look as if she were actually sentimental about that, though I didn't really know.

"Since when did you care about Rowan?" The boy was still defensive against Bianca's efforts. He now shifted to lean up against the wall.

"You were the one afraid he'd do something to Friday. Isn't that why you've been following her around like an eager-eyed puppy? Or is there something more?" I blushed slightly from underneath Rowan's bed, knowing Xavier shared the same ideas I had for him. Wednesday sent me a glare, knowing that Xavier and I were growing closer. "Seriously, what do you see in her? You have a thing for girls whose sisters are tragic goth girls with funeral-parlour fashion sense? Friday is a hopeless girl who follows in Wednesday's shadow." Wednesday bristled at the comment the siren made about me, she didn't care if she was insulted but was enraged by the words said about me.

"Maybe it's because she hasn't tried to manipulate me." I was proud of Xavier for standing up for himself and me. This conversation gave me more hate toward the siren.

"I make one mistake, and you can't forgive me. She picks her sister over you, and you can't get enough. Why are you fixated on Friday?" I did feel guilt for being hurtful to him at his archery club meeting, I didn't know how Bianca knew about that. "Because the Addams' think they're better than everyone else? I can't wait to crush Ophelia Hall tomorrow and watch her werewolf roommate crumble. It's gonna be a Poe Cup final to remember." It was my turn to stiffen with anger from the threat in her words about destroying Enid in the Poe Cup.

"I hate to think what you've got planned." I felt slightly more relaxed at the way Xavier shared the anger.

"My game's already started. I like to win. Is that so wrong?" She tilted her head slightly while fixing her eyes on him.

"And you wonder why I broke up with you." I was understanding their story as they continued to talk, wondering why Bianca would've betrayed him.

"You used to love my killer instinct. We were good together, Xavier." She got closer to him and reached out, causing him to take a step back.

"Were we? Is that just how you wanted me to feel?" I could tell he wasn't going to trust anything she said.

"Trust me, Friday Addams isn't the girl of your dreams. She's the stuff of your nightmares." The siren then sauntered out. For some reason, I didn't get a bad feeling around her when she was hateful toward me, but I felt it around Mrs. Thornhill when she was trying to care for us.
