"it's just a school enid, i don't understand why you're so sullen about it." wednesday says in regard to the crying girl.

"it's not just a school wednesday!! that meant everything to me, and i didn't freaking get in!!' the flamboyant girl wails.

wednesday looked at the girl with wide eyes, not having meant to rile her up.

"i could have phrased that better, i atone." wednesday apologizes, clasping her hands together in her lap, watching the usually cheery girl circle the room.

enid's shoulders slacken and she lets out a loose sigh.

"do you think i'm not good enough?" she questions melancholily.

wednesday looks at her with sorrowful eyes, "no, i don't."

"see! even you think i'm not good enough!" enid whines, throwing herself on the bed.

wednesday walks over to the girl and sits at the edge of her bed, placing her hand on enid's back and rubs it, barely even grazing the tip of her skin.

  "why would you think that?"

  "you just said i didn't."

wednesday looks at her confusedly, "no, i didn't."

"i asked if i was good enough, and you said no!!"

"if i recall correctly, and i do. you said, and i quote, 'do you think i'm not good enough?' and i responded, 'no, i don't.' meaning, i do think you're good enough, enid. of course you're good enough." she explains intently.

"ugh! you confuse me!!" the blonde exclaims, throwing her hands in the air dramatically before  throwing a fake temper tantrum, resembling much of a toddler.

wednesday rolls her eyes fondly at the wailing blonde as she gets off the bed. enid looks at the girl betrayed as she retreats to her side of the room and gets up to follow her, jumping onto her bed as wednesday looks at her in annoyance.

  "what do you want, enid?"

"i'm sad, give me attention." the blonde demands.

"i thought we were over this?" the girl responds in confusion.

"just because we talked about it doesn't make my feelings magically disappear, wednesday." enid sighs exasperatedly, falling backward onto the bed.

"i never said that, i'm just confused."

enid looked at her somewhat regretfully, knowing wednesday hadn't meant it like that.

"i'm.. i'm not good with emotions, enid. you know that, but i am trying for you." wednesday admits.

enid sighs, looking at her with soft eyes and a small loving smile, "i know, baby. i appreciate you more than you know."

wednesday looks down at her feet, feeling the smallest tint of rose paint her cheeks, muttering an almost silent "thank you."

it's a minute before enid speaks again, "would it be alright for you to hold me? maybe? i'm just kinda sad right now."

wednesday nods and pulls the slim girl into her arms.

"i am sorry you didn't get in enid." wednesday whispers, brushing the girl's hair behind her ear as a form of affection.

"it's probably for the best." enid replies mournfully.

  "why do you concur that?"

enid shrugs, "i wouldn't be with you."

wednesday smiles just the slightest before deflating, having processed what enid meant.

"though, i would maybe miss you.. i shouldn't get in the way of your happiness, tesoro." wednesday says meaningfully. the ravenette freezes suddenly and looks towards the lycan holding her finger up to silence the girl, "i never said that, though."

enid giggles and pretends to zip her lips together and put the lock in her pocket, "my lips are sealed."

"if you say a word i'll have your throat, sinclair." wednesday glares at the girl with a warnful eye.

  "you have my word!!"

the two sit in silence for a while after that, wednesday just holding the sinclair girl.

  "..are you.. you know, okay?"

enid looks at her and gives her a tight-lipped smile, "i will be, just, hold me please. just hold me." she whispers the last part, closing her eyes and leaning further into the addams.

wednesday was frozen for a minute, unused to this much contact. after a while though, she pulls the girl in further and rests her head atop the other girl's, squeezing her just the tiniest bit tighter, seeming to find this somewhat bearable.

"there's always next time." wednesday reaffirms the somber girl.

"there's always next time." she repeats back quietly.
