"Nimi , wake up now ! Mum has been calling you for like 10 minutes now " , my sister , Femi , said to me while I was still rolled in bundles of white sheet on my bed . I wasn't ready to get up , in fact I wasn't even ready to start my day .
"I've heard , I'll get up now ", I said still not showing any sign of movement . "I can't even stress myself  , you know how your mother is ", Femi said , and with that she left my room . I sighed as I got up from my bed still feeling sleepy as hell .
I eventually got up and walked over to my bathroom constantly trying to avoid looking into my mirrors .
" What I thought of myself on a normal day was already bad enough,  I'm not about to make it worse with my crusty morning look" , I thought .
I cleaned up real quick and got dressed up in light blue floral sundress, white sneakers and a light blue shoulder bag, by the time I was done my mum was literally screaming her lungs for me to get downstairs that minute. I was about leaving my room then I remembered I forgot to take my charm bracelet , I know it sounds childish but I swear it does bring me good luck , most of the time .
After searching everywhere and with no sign of it anywhere,  I decided to resort to words of affirmation. I immediately turn around and walked over to my bathroom, facing the mirror , I took a deep breath  .
"Oluwalonimi Coker ,you're perfect, you're strong ,you're bea..."
"

Nimi!!!", shouted Nimi's mother, Agnes Coker and her patient was as thin as a thread.
"Ma!", I screamed back , screw affirmations this woman will kill me , I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs to meet everyone waiting and by everyone I mean , Mum , Femi and Dad.
"Are you ready?" , asked Dad , "uhm, I guess so" , I replied.
"You guess so", retorted my mum, "after spending over how many hours upstairs " , she added.  I couldn't even give her a reply I just mentally noted to myself that today was gonna be a bad day , starting with the fact that I may have lost my charm bracelet .
" Let's go "  , my Dad said as we all walked outside to the car.
Where are we going?, you may ask . Well we are attending one of my father's numerous family business meetings and trust me I hate them .
