Chapter 6

"Madam, we've gotten home", my driver said taping me lightly,  "oh thank you ", I said waking up , I rubbed my temple for a few seconds to get my brain to start functioning again,  I took my bag and stepped out of the car into the house , when I got in I saw Femi seating on the couch in living room with a bowl of grapes in her hand,  "my baby , welcome back, how was your first day? " , she asked so excited ,"it was okay", I said walking up to my room, "that's it , just okay ,that's impossible!", she exclaimed as she followed me into my and shut the door ,"ok fine , it was really nice , I met a lot of people and made new friends ", I said ,"New friends?  You have their number right? Let me see their pictures ", she said with excitement. I brought out my phone to show her pictures of Jonathan and Iremide but as we were scrolling through a message came in "Hi ,it's Jekimah ", It read, "who's Jekimah?" Femi questioned, "oh it one of my friends I me...", she didn't let me finish before she grabbed my phone and ran to the other side of the room , "Femi stop , bring my phone back ", I said frustrated,  "oh my God , this guy is fine oh but he looks familiar ", she said as I took the phone from her, "what do you mean , have you met him before?"I asked , "Chill let me try to remember,  oh yes , do you remember that lunch party we all went for when you were 12?"She asked, "we went for a lot of lunch parties Femi , which one of them ?", I asked her trying to sound pissed, "The one where you asked a particular boy around your age to marry you and daddy approved of it "she said and that was when it hit me , "oh my God,  that was Jekimah,  I hope he doesn't recognize me, this is so embarrassing" I said , "don't worry he won't,  try texting him, let's see what he has to say "   Femi said laughing,  I picked up my phone and tapped on his message,  I replied him saying "oh hey, how are you?" "Jesus Nimi you have no game at all", Femi said and she was right I was plain boring, while waiting for Jekimah to reply I took off my uniform and took a shower as Femi was telling me about her latest crush , after about 10 minutes I stepped out,  dried my hair and got dressed in my nightwear whish was just a white tee and a PSD ladies short , Femi was still in my room but she was on a call with someone, I picked up my phone and laid down on my bed that was when I realized that Jekimah had replied , I tapped on the message Icon 

Jekimah: I'm okay ,you ?

Nimi: I'm good

As I replied another text came and this time it was from Iremide

Iremide : hey, the gang is about to facetime , wanna join?

Nimi: Yh sure

I turned to see femi was still in my room , "hey leave my room, I'm about to facetime with my friends ", I said while looking for my headphones,  "oh so because you have friends you want to rub it in my face", she said still on her phone ," ok fine, you can stay just dont disturb me", I sighed,  I took my head phone and my iPad and went to my desk and turned on my desk lamp,  I switched on my iPad and joined the facetime , by the time I joined it was only Iremide and Christian that were present, "oh damn , even at night you're still this pretty", Christian said and Iremide just rolled her eyes , "thanks", I said before Christian went off to do something promising to be back in 5 minutes and it was then I realized that it might be the perfect time to ask her about Christian," Hey Ire , you know you told me Christian's bad news, how come you still hang out with him?" I asked ,"oh my God, you really took that too serious, I was just warning you because he's the typical always-in-trouble kid and I dont want him to rub off you ", She explained,  "but that doesn't explain the looks you gave me when I came back from the art department today", I said, to be honest it really pissed me off but I ignored it , "oh that, those weren't directed at you , I was looking at Christian", she stated,  "oh", was al I could say , well I judged to quickly, "yh it's fine" , she said , that exact minute Jonathan, Christian and Jekimah joined.
  "Hey people ! " Jonathan said,  "Hey guys", Jekimah said in his usual calm tone ," Hey Jonathan,  hey Jekimah ", I greeted them both , " wait is that Jekimah?", Femi screamed right behind me and rushed towards my desk ,all of them were surprised to see Femi and I just covered my face with my palm.
"Hey guys", Femi said in her happy tone,  "Heyyyyy ", they all said, "Femi I'm in love with you ", Christian screamed and Femi laughed ,"hmm I like you already ", she said and clearly Christian was about to float into heaven,  "so hey Jekimah,  do you remember me ?", she asked , Jekimah paused for a bit before replying ,"Yes I do", he said , "so you remember my sister?"  She asked  ," Yes", he said and I wished the ground would open and swallow me that moment,  "so you do remember the time she asked you to marry her when she was 12, right?" , she asked again and before Jekimah could answer I interrupted," Femi it's enough, get out of my room", I said and they all laughed, including Jekimah,  I feel so betrayed,  I stood up to push Femi out forgetting I was on ft with 3 guys and my short were like extra short , I shut the door after I had pushed her out and went back to my desk and we all continued talking,   Iremide promised to introduce me to other people tomorrow as most of them were absent today while Jonathan and Christian briefed me on all the school's latest gossips and teas after a while it was just Jekimah, Jonathan and I left on the ft, "okay guys I'm nodding off, you should too, goodnight ", Jonathan said,  "Good night Jona", Jekimah and I said to him before he left and now it was just us , jeez awkwardness alert , " so why didn't you tell me you remembered who I was in school ?" I asked,  " I wasn't sure then but seeing Femi confirmed everything cause I remember giving her my necklace to give to you to seal the marriage since I didn't have a ring", he said , we talked about that day for a little while and I felt the need to sleep settling in" Alright I'm going off now , goodnight Jekimah", I said , "hold on,  can you meet me in the school's library tomorrow, section E5 I need to give you something ", he said calmly, "oh yeah,  sure ", I agreed,  "Alright then, good night Nimi", he said and I disconnected and turned off my iPad,  I intended on going straight to bed but I dont know how I ended in my closet in front of my jewelry stand, I pulled out a drawer and picked up something from inside,  it was a dove necklace , it was Jekimah's necklace,  I dropped it back ,left the closet and got on my bed after turning off the lights and I went off almost immediately .
