Chapter 4

"Shit!" , I screamed in horror as I realized I was going to be late to school on my freaking first day , I jumped out of bed and ran straight to my bathroom, this is the first time I'd get cleaned up in less than 5 minutes .
I rushed out of the bathroom and ran straight into my closet , picked up my uniform , ran back to my room jumped back on my bed, I needed to cool down a little I hate sweating while dressing up. When I had finally cooled off I started dressing up , my uniform consisted of a white collared shirt, gray pleated skirt , black leggings , a wine blazer and a tie , I loved it !
As soon as I was done dressing up , I walked towards my full length mirror at the corner of my bedroom to take one last look and make sure everything was perfect, as I turned back to get my bag I stepped on something sharp , I looked down to see what it was and it was my charm bracelet well talking about perfect timing , I hurriedly put it on , took my bags and ran downstairs , there I met everyone already settled down to have breakfast ,I joined them and soon as I was done I went straight to car two minutes later I was on my way to school, I know I'm kinda excited about today .
"Madam, we're at you school ", said the driver , I was so lost in thoughts that I didn't realize we had already arrived at my school, " oh okay , thank you Ezekiel ", I said as I got down , I picked up my bag and shut the door and then the minute I turned around I saw people staring at me. Some were murmuring and some were just staring, that's when my anxiety set in , why were they looking at me so much , oh wait it's because I'm new here , "ok Nimi just stay cool you'll be fine", I told myself.
I walked down towards the administrative block, Mrs Raphael had already told me to meet with her that morning to get assigned to my class and get a map of the school, when I got to the office she was seated there and her eyes glued to her system, "good morning ma'am," I greeted , "oh , hello Nimi , how are you? ", she replied, "I'm good ma'am ", I said , "ok let me just finish up this work , I'll attend to you in a minute ", she said as she gestured me to sit down , her office was quite large , I didn't really take a good look at it the last time I was here.
" Ok so this is your hallway pass , Id card , class and seat number and the school's map , when you get out to the waiting room show this to me secretary and she'll get someone to give you a tour around the school ", she said , " okay ,thank you ma'am ", I said smiling then I stepped out of her office, when I got put I showed the secretary the piece of paper she gave me , then the secretary placed a call demanding the presence of the the class monitor of Science department grade 12 , it wasn't up to 5 minutes, a tall dark skinned girl walk in, from the walking posture it was easy to detect that she was either a model or aspiring to be , she and the secretary spoke for a little then she turned to face me , " Let's go ", she said , I stood up , picked my bag and followed her , when we were out of the administrative block she turned to me and said " I'm Iremide, Iremide Daniels and you are?" , "Oluwalonimi Coker ", I replied, " Alright then let's start our tour ", she said .
This school was extremely large , yes I was expecting it to be large but my it outdid my expectations, Iremide was quite friendly and was obviously popular cause I couldn't count the amount of time we stopped to greet someone, she showed me everywhere around school, the football pitch, basketball court, the swimming area , the science laboratories, the art gallery, the music studios , the school's cooking lab, the hall and the cafeteria, by the time we were done I couldn't feel my legs , " Alright, we're done now , let's head to class , just to warn you though, people will stare at you the minute you step in but don't worry they're really nice and friendly, and by the way , stay away from Christian, he's bad news", she said with a warning tone , " who's Christian? " I asked " Christian's the son of Mr Adams, one of the co- founders of this school and the second best on the football team", " who's the first ?" I asked " you'll find out later , but for now let's get to class", she said as she pointed to a door which was obviously the door to my class and I froze , why was I so scared to just enter a freaking room , Iremide noticed I was scared , she walked towards me " you'll be fine in less than 5 minutes you'd blend in , so don't be scared " , she said smiling as she held my hands and walked into the class and no she wasn't joking when she said everyone would be staring , they were all looking like I wore the wrong uniform or something, but I just ignored them and walked straight to my seat , hung my bag and sat down , I turned to know where Iremide was sitting but she was sitted in the front row , I turned to my side to see who was beside me.
It was a boy, he placed his head in the table in such a way that he was facing me and he had his headphones on so I couldn't really tell If he was asleep or not but there was one thing I was sure about, this boy was pretty, yeah, that's the word . "You can stop staring now ", the pretty boy said with his eyes closed scaring the living daylight out of me but I made sure I looked calm and collected on the the outside , " I wasn't staring ", I said ," yeah sure ", he said with sarcasm raising his head up and taking off his headphones , " I'm Christian by the way ", he said, "oh so he's the bad news, but he's too pretty to be tagged that , " I'm Nimi " ,I said ,"Nice name ", he replied this time looking me like he was trying to register my face in his brain or something, a second later ,a teacher stepped into our classroom he was our chemistry teacher according to Christian, we had chemistry for an hour then the bell went off signifying the end of the class, when the teacher stepped out Christian told me that we were free for the next period then he stood up and was about to walk out the class, when I stopped him and asked where he was heading to , " Art department ", he said , " can I come with you", I found myself saying , "Nimi what are you saying ", my inner voice scolded me , " Alright, sure" , he said, I stood up and walked out with him and without turning around I could tell everyone in class was talking about what just happened.
When we got to art department , one was sure these kids were the life of the party , they were all basically having a party in their class , "Alright so I'll introduce you to a few of my friends, are you cool with it ?" He asked, " yeah sure ",I replied.
  When we stepped into the class , someone from the left corner of the class shouted "Heyyy ex-convict, get over here", Christian turned to see who that was , " Hey , Jona , what's up" , Christian said to the guy as he walked to meet him , "wait what , he seriously just ditched me here with all these people staringat me , and what did that Jona boy mean by ex-convict , I hope he's joking ", I thought to myself, later on I saw Christian talking to Jona while pointing at me , It was quite obvious they were talking about me and with that Jona walked up to me , " so you're the new girl everyone's been talking about , I'm Jonathan but people I like call me Jona , so feel free to , what's your name ?, he said smiling while making direct eye contact with me like he was  trying to read my mind or something  , " I'm Nimi, nice to meet you ", I said with a small smile on my face , "You're really pretty", he said bluntly and I definitely wasn't expecting that was about to say thanks but then someone walked in catching Jona's attention and I turned to see who that was , ladies and gentleman, I was faced by most beautiful man alive .
