Sophies POV

I am more confused than ever at the moment, Leah just shut the door in my face and randomly brought Alex up. What does Alex have anything to do with the time I just spent with her? I think about knocking but instead I just turn my back and sit down in front of the door, just needing to sit and think, think about everything. Tonight, has to have been one of the best nights of my life up until getting this door shut in my face. After thinking for a while, I was getting absolutely no where so I got up and left. Once I reached my car, I had too much on my mind to drive straight back home so I decided the beach was where I should go. Once, I parked I led myself back to the place I found comfort, right up on the sand, close enough to the water that I could feel the mist of the waves crashing hitting my face. I sat and thought to myself:

'What is going on with me?'

'Why is this girl getting to me so much?'

'I know I found her absolutely breathtaking but we just met'

'I need to speak to Alex'

So that's what I did. I pulled out my phone and message my best friend, hoping that she could shed light on the situation.

Alex M. 🤞🏼

Me: Hey, sorry I know its late

Alex: It's okay, I'm just laying down. What's up? Everything okay?

Me: Everything's alright I guess, I was hoping we could talk?

Alex: Yeah sure breakfast tomorrow? Don't have training until the afternoon

Me: sounds good, thanks

Alex: It's what best friends are for, are you sure you're okay?

Me: Yes I promise, Goodnight

Alex: Goodnight

I put my phone away and just took in my surroundings, the sound of the waves crashing, boats in the distance, stars shinning, and seagulls squawking in the sand looking for food. After a few hours, I figured it was best to get some sleep and head back home. The drive was about 40 minutes. I walked up to my room and after a few minutes I was out cold.

The Next Day

I woke up at around 05:00, with the same thoughts on my mind, Leah. I got ready finally wearing civilian clothing and started cleaning up my room. I grabbed my keys and headed out the house, before anyone woke up; it's not that I didn't love my family, they just tend to overwhelm me. I guess that's why the day I had planned ahead was what it was. The 40-minute drive did me good, The sun was shining, the wind wasn't too strong and not a cloud could be seen.

I arrived at the usual breakfast spot we always meet at, I usually arrive early anywhere I go so I was expecting Alex not to be there yet. That's one thing the military taught me, if you're early you're on time, whereas on time is being late About an hour later she arrived.

Alex

So how early did you get here this time?

Sophie

Not too early just about an hour ago

Alex

So... how was your night?

Sophie

See, now why do you have to say it like that?
