As I got into the car with Olivia I must've had a weird look on my face because she asked me what was wrong.

"What's wrong, A?" That's a name she hasn't called me in a while.

"What? Oh. Nothing really, I'm just confused." I replied.
She raised her eyebrows. "About what?" She asked.

I looked out the window. "It's kind of strange and hard to explain. I'm just sad, that's all." I said finally after a while.

"That was so much information! I know everything that's going on now!" She exclaimed sarcastically. "I know there's something else going on with you than you just being sad, A. You can tell me anything, you know that."

I looked her in the eyes. "I'll tell you later," I said. "I don't want to talk about it here."

Lucy turned around in her seat. "Hey girls," she said. "We're going on a trip. "IN OUR FAVORITE ROCKET SHIP!" Olivia sang.

Lucy rolled her eyes. "No, but I called your parents and we're allowed to stop at the park. You guys can do your homework there if you need to, but we're going to go for a run around the lake a couple times." She finished.

"Okay." Olivia and I said in unison.

We pulled into the parking lot next to a playground with a trail down to the lake.

Olivia and I got out of the car and opened the trunk.

We pulled out our books and bags and walked to a nearby bench and sat down.

I started to work on my math homework when Olivia put her arm around me and I stopped.

"Ok, now tell me what's wrong. I won't stop bothering you until you tell me. And you know that. Is there something I don't know?"

I looked down at my equations and chuckled nervously. "Um well yeah," I said. "I kind of had this crush on Charles. it was this new feeling and then it was taken away from me. I mean it was something so little, but it hurts a lot. I'm fine, it's just that I'm kind of disappointed. I'm sure there will be a million crushes other than this one like you have had." I said with kind of a forced smile.

"Hey!" She exclaimed. She shook her head and closed her eyes as to admit something. "Fine, you're right about my crush thing. Anyway, everyone knew you had a crush! Pshh, it was so obvious! It's new to you and you can't let it get you down! Girl, there's a hundred guys who would love to date you. You're so pretty and caring. Who doesn't want that?" She said and smiled.

"Wow thanks." I said.

There was an awkward silence and she let me write again. "Now, what was making you confused?" She asked.

"Oh! I totally forgot. Some guy-well I think it was a guy- left this note in my locker." I said and handed her the paper.

She looked over it and her jaw dropped. "Wow. This person knows a lot about you...yet they let you know in the sweetest way possible. Oh my gosh do you know what this means? You've got a secret admirer!" She said.

I laughed out loud and scared a bunch of birds crowded around the swings.

"Ugh. Like one of those cheesy movies?" I asked.

"I'm afraid so." She said and I stopped laughing. "Seriously though, we need to do our homework." I said.

She nodded and chuckled. "You'll figure it out," she said. "They always do."

All three of the girls returned after a while out of breath.

"Where were you?" I asked. "I had enough time to finish all of my homework."

They looked at each other and then back at me.
